Yesterday we discussed Felix Baumgartner’s 24-mile high skydive.

MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell Reports offered an amazing detail of the freefall that I was unaware of:

Let me guess….it resulted in a sonic flash?

I doubt a parachute could stop a warp-one projectile but, I do remember seeing the leading edges of his helmet and arms glowing red. Yeah, he hit the ground before he went up in the balloon.

Wow, Felix, you’re better than we all thought!

  3. @undefined on October 15th, 2012 5:52 pm

Did Felix speak English or Austrian to grounf control as he was rising up in the balloon??

Oh snap! When I was a kid I thought Star Trek was cool, so I got into math and science, only to discover later what "science fiction" truly meant. And now, Mr. Baumgartner shows me it's possible! Warp speed! Damn! I shouldn't have screwed around in college! I should have taken more STEM classes! Maybe for his next magic trick, Mr. Baumgartner will beam himself down from 24 miles up.

But he still couldn't outrun the lightness in Andrea's head.

Great point Joe. And we can 'scratch' all those booooring technical courses too! Who needs to study Great Circle Navigation and Inertial NAV systems when any BIMBO can get on tv and make several $mil$ a year?

Light, sound, locomotive, speeding bullet. Whatever…

Can you say so immersed in their own progressive AGENDA they fail to connect with the very REAL world all around them..?

Perhaps we can talk Jeff into calculating how many nano/pico-pico seconds it would take to cover the unobstructed space between her EARS?

What a dolt. If her employers had any b@lls they'd shred her contract in front of her face and send her packing. Try making a mistake like that at any blue collar job and let me know how long it would take for your co-workers to let it go?

Let's try NEVER. You'd be better off moving to a different state and get a crossing guard job.

    :-)

  9. SignPainterGuy on October 15th, 2012 8:30 pm

It was a lightly Austrian accented English and since he said this would be his last such high skydive, we know "He won`t be baaack" !

    Or just slide – http://potluckbloggers.wordpress.com/2012/10/15/t

Felix strikes me as a man who likes options ! ;-)

I know, she could get down with the shtruggle with Meanchelle and paint roadway signs ! She has been off just a bit as long as I`ve been aware of her, she`d fit right in !

Just curious; what is the graphic below that announcement of Felix`s incredible new speed record ? TOP STORIES> "24 MILE-HIGH SKYDIVE TOPPED 8 MILLION CONCURRENT L" What ?

  13. jeffythequick on October 15th, 2012 9:57 pm

I have to watch the videos while I'm not at work (I'm here until 10 EDT, but I'll look at it and have some pithy comments later…)

I can't wait to get back to the hotel to watch this thing!

  14. backwoodsconsr on October 15th, 2012 10:12 pm

    That was a good one!

  15. Marshall_Will on October 15th, 2012 10:50 pm

Lol, plenty OF 'em too ladies! ( Think you missed a spot? ) Only 591,871,999 to go!

More than just incredibly DENSE, Progressives are the most prejudicial people I know. Everywhere we go we're prepared to get the patented "Once-over harrumph" when opening the car door for their WIFE.

They just know any guy that gentlemanly HAS to be a Conservative..! Scorn away Lady-progs! Sorry, just b/c YOUR husband is so Eco-cult/PEU agenda-driven he can't be bothered to fetch you a shopping cart when "just getting a few things!" turns into a full blown shopping trip!

Or getting down to the pocket lint for the Salvation Army at the holidays. Holding the door for someone ELSE'S wife. They'll pretend you've disrupted their "rightful path" when pitching in to pick up a poppy on Vet's Day. They're humiliated their lives have spun so far out of control they didn't even REALIZE it was ( insert stoopid shoulda' been abolished long ago 'Christian'/patriotic holiday here _____ )

  16. ChapBix on October 15th, 2012 11:02 pm

It would take light years to cover the unobstructed space between her ears. Within is an entire parallel universe.

  17. SignPainterGuy on October 15th, 2012 11:06 pm

I meant to incl. the link; had it ready and everything, but the phone rang. Another survey !

"SHCOOL" fits in with Mooch`s "shtruggle" !

  18. Marshall_Will on October 15th, 2012 11:15 pm

Apparently so! Over the years Doug has made many a' keen observation regarding Leftist allowing Eco-think to cloud the old thought process?

These alphabet netwerkz have been pampering these talking puppets far too long. I'll bet that only certain people within the studio are even permitted to speak to them directly.

One of the guys down here on Base does stand up comedy and works as an extra/bit part actor in his FT career. He was in one of J-Lo's movies and an asst. sternly warned all the extras to never "make eye contact" with her!

The guy s like 6' 7" so what's the first thing he DOES..? He said she was so miffed it wasn't funny. Diva's we expect this from!

  19. backwoodsconsr on October 15th, 2012 11:32 pm

I suspect they're talking about live viewers. The people who could have viewed not live didn't because they were busy voting for Obama.

  20. jeffythequick on October 16th, 2012 12:20 pm

Wow… I was tired last night, after talking with my co-worker about the joy of working, and how getting a job done successfully is one of the greatest feelings a man can have.

On Andrea here, apparently with her assessment, Felix went faster than the speed of light, but not faster than the speed of stupid.

I'm a bit fuzzy on the ramifications of Einstein's theory, but doesn't that mean the jumper was time traveling?
