President Obama, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta and Joe Biden met as the Benghazi attack unfolded. Presumably a decision or two other than “I think I’ll go to Vegas now” was made and some directives were given.

Fast forward to last night:

On Tuesday night’s “On the Record with Greta Van Susteren” on the Fox News Channel, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said that major news networks might have secret emails proving that the White House canceled plans to assist the besieged U.S. Embassy in Benghazi.

Gingrich said that the bombshell emails could be revealed within the next two days.

“There is a rumor — I want to be clear, it’s a rumor — that at least two networks have emails from the National Security Adviser’s office telling a counterterrorism group to stand down,” Gingrich said. “But they were a group in real-time trying to mobilize marines and C-130s and the fighter aircraft, and they were told explicitly by the White House stand down and do nothing. This is not a terrorist action. If that is true, and I’ve been told this by a fairly reliable U.S. senator, if that is true and comes out, I think it raises enormous questions about the president’s role, and Tom Donilon, the National Security Adviser’s role, the Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta, who has taken it on his own shoulders, that he said don’t go. And that is, I think, very dubious, given that the president said he had instructions they are supposed to do everything they could to secure American personnel.”

“Gingrich said that the bombshell emails could be revealed within the next two days.” It wouldn’t surprise me in the least that if such emails exist, some pissed off intel employee angered by all the attempts to throw the CIA and others under the bus over this debacle probably did the leaking. But does anybody honestly believe that NBC, et al, would release these before the election? If Fox News is one of the two networks Newt’s referring to, that would happen, but I don’t think CNN, CBS, ABC or NBC would release them before the election. If Obama wins they probably wouldn’t release them after the election, either.

The mainstream media, with the exception of Fox News and select reporters, are burying the Benghazi story in general — let alone any extra evidence that may exist proving that Obama lied, and our people died.

But maybe the nets will have to mention it soon. Even Jay Leno is joking about the Obama administration’s non-transparency on Benghazi:

For FNC to even air something this nebulous is deliberately throwing fuel on the fire and a breach of the trust of the caring public.

Make room on the end of the bench MSM, we got us a new player.

This could backfire big. Newt should not be out there running his mouth unless he actually has the emails in his hot hands and can produce them. All this does is give Obama a chance to claim the GOP is grasping at straws.

Though I do love Leno's take on the return of Don't ask. Don't tell.

“But they were a group in real-time trying to mobilize marines and C-130s and the fighter aircraft, and they were told explicitly by the White House stand down and do nothing."

Which is really funny becasue the email 'I' got said; "Things are gettin' CRAZY in B'hazi! It's like Abiza up in here and we're running low on sangria! Local chicks on the veranda in..? Make it?"

( That's the email 'you' guys got, right? )

If Obama tried to hide national secrets as fervently as he tries to hide his screw-ups, we'd still be wondering exactly who killed Bin Laden, where he was hiding, what happened to the body, etc.

Now it appears that TWO (2) drones were flying over Benghazi and a C-130 Spectre Gunship during the attacks (not just a few hundred miles away, but actually already THERE) AND a contingent of Spec. Ops guys who are trained to rush in and rescue embassy and other personnel in exactly the "too little actionable info" situation that existed at the time of the 7+ hour attacks.

I hope and pray that all this info is publicized before the standard "doc. dump Friday" or after the election !

President Barack Obama on Friday described a perception of moderate modifications for the National Security Agency in a speech that can most likely please neither reformers nor agency defenders. The presentation, which occurred in the Great Hall of the Justice Department building, showed up more than 6 months after the leaks from former NSA contractor Edward Snowden commenced. Realizing the people objection those leaks have produced, the president however protected a lot of the agency's most contentious programs as necessary in the fight against terrorism."The work before us right now is greater than simply repairing the damage carried out to our operations; or preventing much more disclosures from taking place in the future. Alternatively, we must make some appropriate judgements about how precisely to protect our very selves and maintain our management on this planet, whilst upholding the civil liberties and privacy protections that our values — as well as our Constitution — demand," Obama declared.
