Obama Signs Legislation Giving Himself, Bush and Future Presidents Secret Service Protection for Life

I don’t have any particular problem with re-establishing this, but it is incredibly ironic that at the same time the White House is telling everybody guns don’t make them safer, the president signs into law legislation that will surround him with guns for the rest of his life in order to… make him safer:

President Barack Obama on Thursday signed into a law a measure giving him, George W. Bush and future former presidents and their spouses lifetime Secret Service protection, the White House announced.

The legislation, crafted by Republican Rep. Trey Gowdy of South Carolina, rolls back a mid-1990s law that imposed a 10-year limit on Secret Service protection for former presidents. Bush would have been the first former commander in chief affected.

Obama knows the lives of important people should be protected with guns. The rest of us, not so much.

    The left does not necessarily hate guns; they just hate guns in the hands of those who do not march in lock-step with their agenda !

    I don`t really object to this signing. he and GWB are probably among the most hated presidents in recent history ! Besides, if you had pissed off this many people as Barry has and given the chance, wouldn`t YOU want lifetime protection ?

    What I see in that picture is the way things ought to be. A bunch of sane people are surrounding a crazy person, and the crazy person is the only one who doesn't have a gun.

    Critically, CRITICALLY important distinction my friend! I'm not sure you realize what a powerful talking point you've stumbled on! I watched portions of the Morgan-Shapiro 2nd Amend. debate and had Ben said that, it would have given him a permanent and irrefutable upper hand.

    It works on virtually ANY level, be that in the local watering hole, with relatives or on the floor of the Senate. It would/WILL leave them dumbfounded. There IS no satisfactory 'comeback'. It calls them out in a light they've never BEEN in before.
