An update from Joe “Republicans have their bullets aimed at you” Biden regarding the progress of his task force on figuring out how to rid society of a dangerous gun culture:
Vice President Joe Biden said on Friday he was “shooting for Tuesday” to get President Barack Obama his recommendations on how to battle an epidemic of gun violence and warned “there’s no silver bullet” to stop the killing.
Early next week I expect Biden to say that his task force has targeted some solutions that they have in their crosshairs — ideas that he hopes the president and Congress will pull the trigger on by passing his group’s recommendations lock, stock and barrel — and subsequently stick to their guns and bite the bullet on any added cost of implementation.
Meanwhile, a news update from the city with gun laws the administration wants to break out nation-wide to stop gun violence.

Mr Gaffetastic strikes again. He just can`t help himself ! At least you can figure out the truth from him if you pay attention ! Keep your eyes and ears open folks, they mean to confiscate all our guns eventually !
At some point soon they'll wave a wand and in one way or another criminalize millions of people overnight. If people don't register their guns (or whatever the gov't tells them to do) out of nowhere otherwise honest people will be felons. I don't have data on it, but I'm guessing gun owners (and certainly NRA members) are far more likely to lean right than left politically. What can't you do when you're a felon? Get a license to own a gun, and vote. It's a "two for one" win as far as the left is concerned.
Meanwhile they aren't even enforcing existing gun laws. Just ask David Gregory.
Joe is always going off half cocked.
I`ve read a bit about possible intentions to confiscate; then this morning I watched pts 1 & 2 of this interview with an NC police Lt. According to him, it will happen very soon. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A3-JqP11wvA&fe…
Apparently this admin. is pushing us with threats of stricter gun control laws, raised taxes, stiffer regs, etc. to push us to the point of rebellion, then it will be on !
I`m running out of grains of salt ……
Interesting interview. Long suspected the conduit of endless cashola to these local agencies ( presumably to buy only the latest & greatest technology ) was nothing more than an attempt to buy these local agencies off!
In '08 I got the first speeding ticket in like 25 years. The deputy told me they had an omni-directional radar that can track your speed even if you're coming up BEHIND the trooper. This in Jackson County, OR where people are so poor, poaching is done for meat, not thrills.
The parallels to Katrina being a trial run were chilling as well, by bringing in LE/Guard people from outside the area.
Other than a number of military and LEOs will stand with us, it wasn`t encouraging.
Our county used Homeland Security $$ to train a few special deputies and equip them w/ neat black Chargers. My town did similar and also got new radars that can see around blind curves. They`ve been handing out tickets like campaign pens !
One of MM's posters said "the Obama Administration absolutely cowers over anything RURAL! Their actions certainly indicate that. The sheriff mentioned plots to alienate and cut off dairy farms and ranches to choke off the food supply.
On balance, assuming this bold gamble is their intention, it won't pan out well. The escalation of the politics of division from rhetoric to action isn't a result they'll wind up preferring for long.
To be perfectly honest, most of these LE org's were whining for hi-tech gadgets BECAUSE they are so drastically undermanned. In many Red states, the highway patrol or distant sheriff is the only 'law' the have. How long would major metro dept's stay onboard w/ the program when rural dept's are being cut down like so much target practice? Just carrying THEIR ludicrous 'plan' out to its logical conclusion…
God forbid! Joe wants to meet with the families of the Newtown victims. I can't fathom how that idiot would bring any comfort to them with his musings.
Newtown is planning to station armed police in their schools. Slo-Joe is probably heading there to make an example of them with a stern lecture and to show the world how serious his neo-fascists are in going after our guns.
Shooting for Tuesday? I have had it with this violent rhetoric coming out of Washington. It is time they tone it down and engage in civil discourse.
Maybe the admin. intends to maximize competition between rural and metro LEOs for gov. $ and Tech., thus getting them to volunteer for the "bought & paid-for" status.
W/ the return to the 55% Inheritance tax rate, more and more family farms will be sold off to the likes of Soros and Buffett.
"Civil discourse" is only targeted for us Bible and gun bitter clingers !
I really don`t know what to make of this; it seems that the rush for more and stricter gun controls is lost on local area Sheriffs, Chiefs of Police and DAs. http://www.citizen-times.com/article/20130113/NEW…
Unless I`m mistaken, all of them are dems and they all promise to stand by the Constitution and the 2nd Amendment or to take a 'No comment" stance until word comes down from the top. It`s amazing to hear all the common sense from these guys.
or those whose names rhyme with Parah Sailin.
I saw this on Facebook (wish I had the link).. It's a cartoon with 4 panels:
All of them have three people in it, one on the ground, dead, the other with the weapon, and the third is a commenter on the scene:
Panel1: You just strangled that guy, What's the matter with you?
Panel2: You just beat that guy with a baseball bat! What's the matter with you?
Panel3: You just stabbed that guy! What's a matter with you?
Panel4: You just shot that guy! Let's ban all guns!
