Petition to Make President/Vice-President Safer Just 3,600 Short of Number Needed for White House Response

There’s a petition at the White House website calling for a law that would declare the areas surrounding both the president and vice-president to be gun free zones:

Gun Free Zones are supposed to protect our children, and some politicians wish to strip us of our right to keep and bear arms. Those same politicians and their families are currently under the protection of armed Secret Service agents. If Gun Free Zones are sufficient protection for our children, then Gun Free Zones should be good enough for politicians.

At this time, with a week until the deadline, over 21,000 people have signed it, leaving the petition about 3,600 signatures short of the number needed to get a response from the White House. Sign the petition and help keep our leaders safe! They deserve nothing less than the same protections they believe are satisfactory for the general public.
