Last night, seven U.S. Marines were killed in a training accident in Nevada.

Harry Reid immediately took to the floor of the Senate to play politics with their lives by implying the sequester had something to do with it, even though he’s completely unaware of the cause of the accident:

HARRY REID: As I indicated, it was quite a big explosion. We’ll follow this news very closely. I will do whatever I can going forward to support the United States military and the families of the fallen Marines.

Mr. President, it’s very important we continue training our military, so important. But one of the things in sequester is we cut back in training and maintenance. That’s the way sequester was written. Now, the bill that’s on the floor, we hope to pass today helps that a little bit. At least in the next six months, it allows the military some degree of ability to move things around a little bit. Flexibility, we call it, and that’s good. But we have to be very vigilant. This sequester should go away. We have cut already huge amounts of money in deficit reduction. It’s just not appropriate, Mr. President, that our military can’t train and do the maintenance necessary.

These men and women, our Marines were training there in Hawthorne. And with this sequester, it’s going to cut back this stuff. I just hope everyone understands the sacrifices made by our military. They are significant, being away from home, away from families, away from their country.

What a dirtbag.

Reid better be careful though.

How very sad. I know Hawthorne well and we always spend the night there on vacation. Extremely nice people that stage a full-on Military Appreciation Day every year. It's a place where it's still ok to wear your patriotism on your sleeve.

Glad to see the Corp has called this exactly what it is:

one Marine Corps official told us a short time ago that he considers this nothing but pure political posturing on the backs of these dead Marines.

  3. Truesoldier__ on March 19th, 2013 5:56 pm

This truly hasn't been a good day for Marines and the stupidity of government officials:

TSA agents ‘humiliated’ Marine who lost both legs to an IED

Good point. Let's see.., we're under manned, don't have proper funding to perform the exercise safely ( due the sequestor! ) and are inadequately TRAINED!?

I'd say that's an all systems GO!

What a dillrod. Shows how desperate they're becoming and more, just how much of an Arabic/middle eastern mindset they've adopted from the moose slum brotherhood.

They really ARE willing to drag this out to 2014 and BEYOND. Whatever it takes, we're in this for the LONG haul now..! Obviously they're certainly not going to let a few dead G.I's stand between them and Final Victory?

  5. Granny55 on March 19th, 2013 6:17 pm

    I saw that too! Despicable!!!

  6. Marshall_Will on March 19th, 2013 6:17 pm

Again, having spent plenty of time at the "El Capitan" ( Casino & 'Resort'! ) in Hawthorne, locals often lament what they've feared could be a Class A Mishap that would dim the lights of Reno!

There's a *reason* that Army depot is in the middle of nowhere! Legend holds if they had a mass conflagration; it could take days or even WEEKS before it was safe to re-enter. A chain reaction there is every jihadist's wet dream.

For now, they'll have to let Harry play out the sick fantasy…

  7. Truesoldier__ on March 19th, 2013 6:18 pm

So true, but it is going to backfire big time. The sequestration is going to hit the military and their families and that "optic" will not play out well with the American people. That is bad for the Dem's as they are viewed as the party that is less supportive of the military.

The other group of people who are going to be hit hard by the Sequestration are the government workers (most of which vote D). When they start loosing pay due to furloughs but see dear leader on the golf course or headed to Martha's Vineyards this summer they are not going to be happy campers which could lead to an outright revolt where they may stay home in the midterm elections.

  8. Granny55 on March 19th, 2013 6:19 pm

Glad that Marine Corps official said something too! I don't think Dingy Harry's quote is going to set well with a lot of people. Americans are waking up to this fraud!

We can thank the 17th Amendment for this.

He will continue his stupidity for another 2 years, then, in 2015, he'll lessen his idiocy, and keep giving bread and circuses to the people of Nevada, and they'll re-elect him.

There used to be two houses of Congress, selected differently for a reason. That selection process is gone, so all we have now is a ruse from what this country used to be.

It's only going to get worse. No country/empire has ever pulled out of the cycle of:
Humility – Results in people working hard
Prosperity – Results of people working hard
    Pride – Results of prosperity
    Laziness – Results of pride
    Downfall – Results of laziness
Ruin and/or a shadow of the past – Results of the downfall

We're at laziness now, and headed towards the downfall. The re-election of that guy, Di Fi, Harry, Lindsey Graham, McCain are evidence, as are the Karl Roves, Clintons, Bushes, et al.

The fact that we have Cruz, Paul, and Rubio as ones we can name shows how rare they are. There are no news stories about grass growing, Honda making another car, or traffic jams, because they are so common.

Of course there is the reason the 17th ammendment was created in the first place….one of cronyism. Though I share your distaste for the 17th ammendment and would like to see it repealed, it could also be a double edged sword. If you look at The Rand Paul and Ted Cruz victories in particular I am not certain that if the 17th ammnedment were repealed they would be were they are. Too many of the State Legislatures have become as corrupt and fetid as the national ones complete with backscratching cronyism. This may have led to more "good ole' boys network" Senators being sent to DC instead of Paul and Cruz.

Of course, I still think it is a far better choice as it is much easier to clean up your own backyard and once cleaned it would be able to clean up the mess in DC via appointing Constitutional Conservatives instead of relying on low info voters to do the job.

Dingy Harry continues to prove he`s among the lowest of scum in Washington !

  12. Marshall_Will on March 19th, 2013 7:22 pm

I won't disagree, and it's backfiring before most of America begins their evening commute. BY the time they get home, while Fox will beats on it like a rented mule, the LSM will have effectively 'scrubbed' it.

But when we look at the ObaReid track record of losing every battle ( but still somehow winning the war? ) they're just FINE w/ looking like dillrods all day every day.

Up until 2012, class warfare was doled out w/ a club. Now, they have time. Dissections will become infinitely more surgical. Notice how GS's often look down on WG's? E-7's on E-6's? ObaReid can now go back in and make dozens of tweaks and they'll treat each "tier" of gov. worker the same! "Well yeah but.., ( have you seen how we're treating the temp tech's/state/COUNTY workers!? ) Believe me, I know things look tough now but…"

  13. Marshall_Will on March 19th, 2013 7:27 pm

    "giving bread and circuses"

Will there be clowns! I LOVE clowns…

I wouldn't say the 'selection' process is gone, we still have faux/fraudulent 'elections'. It;'s the delineation between the (2) that should disturb. I've come to call this "convergence", Reversion to the Mean, whatever you'd prefer.

Like Rodney said; "My wife was an Earth sign, I was a Water sign. Together, we made MUD!"

  14. SignPainterGuy on March 19th, 2013 7:29 pm

Go to Drudge Report at your own risk AND THEN, ONLY with gallons of eye bleach ! The pic over "Feinstein Foiled" is truly scary, but wonderful at the same time !

  16. SignPainterGuy on March 19th, 2013 7:59 pm

The AP story in my local paper:

Reid and several others are quoted, expressing condolences, but left out Harry`s faux-connection to the sequester as the cause. Imagine that !

It is the first story I`ve seen that enumerates the wounded and classifies their injuries !

  17. Marshall_Will on March 19th, 2013 8:20 pm

Are these guys master or WHAT? My comment from above:

"BY the time they get home, while Fox will beats on it like a rented mule, the LSM will have effectively 'scrubbed' it."

"and could concussively detonate any mortars stored nearby in a phenomenon known as “sympathetic detonation.”

I said chain reaction but what do you expect from a non-ordinance guy? Now I know.

  18. Truesoldier__ on March 20th, 2013 12:32 pm

O/T…Obama map of Israel is missing something….

  19. Marshall_Will on March 20th, 2013 1:11 pm

Notice around the 1:30 mark his sec. advisor says "Where the pResident will meet with young Palestinians to discuss how they will build their institutions and *settlement* in the West Bank in Gaza"

So evidently it's already been decided? Ben should have a field day w/ this clown.

  20. Truesoldier__ on March 20th, 2013 1:19 pm

Even if Israel agreed to give up land agian (which I highly doubt), these youths wont build institutions as they have shown in the past. Remember that last "land for peace" deal where Israel gave up land in Gaza compelte with greenhouses?

  21. Truesoldier__ on March 20th, 2013 1:45 pm

Hey Doug, this is too funny:

  22. SignPainterGuy on March 20th, 2013 1:50 pm

This is funny too ! The driver`s fault, not the Israeli`s:

At 16,000-ish lbs, maybe it should have diesel power !

  23. Truesoldier__ on March 20th, 2013 1:58 pm

That is too funny. Dear leader has the worse luck with limos. Remember his trip to Ireland where he tried to pass himself off as O'Bama? They high centered the limo there:

  24. SignPainterGuy on March 20th, 2013 2:10 pm

He is FOS and proves it frequently !

I noticed that someone said that the statement that the driver filled it up w/ diesel instead of gasoline is backward, it runs on diesel according to him.

I`ve been looking for the engine specs, but can`t find anything other than the high fuel consumption rate of just 8 MPG. What do you expect for an 8 ton vehicle ? The last truck I drove, a `74 White Road Commander II w/ "Fuel Squeezer" 350 Cummins 6 Cyl. that weighed 8.4 tons got about 4.5 mpg.

The engine info must be classified. (?)

  25. SignPainterGuy on March 20th, 2013 2:13 pm

Putting gasoline in a diesel engine, to my experience, DOES NOT prevent starting, which was the reported problem, but rather causes explosive detonation (within the cylinders ……. at first) and can cause high rpm runaway (It won`t / can`t be shut down) !

  26. Obama bin Biden on March 20th, 2013 2:15 pm

There is no limt to how low left-wing vermin will stoop.

  27. Truesoldier__ on March 20th, 2013 2:22 pm

Oh yeah it does. It burns at so much higher a temp and will burn that engine out in no time flat. So that a few times as a humvee mechanic in the military.

  28. Marshall_Will on March 20th, 2013 2:34 pm

Lol, can you say, bleed injectors!?

  29. Marshall_Will on March 20th, 2013 2:40 pm

But instead of guarding the greenhouses, the guards decided to rob them.

What do we expect. Most of those thugs have never held anything more valuable in their hand than a dirt clod. Instructions for using a computer would involve a 'diagram' of an AC plug prongs, and like the Seinfeld episode, the you know, 'holes'?

Institutions my azz. More cover, shout out and encrypted messages to the MB. Lynne Stewart ( Michael Moore's female counterpart ) ain't got nothin' on THIS guy!?

  30. SignPainterGuy on March 20th, 2013 2:48 pm

It is conceivable that the engine electronics in The Beast is so hi tech that it sensed the gas and shut down. Or even the other way around. Makes sense to me.

There are numerous YouTube vids of big diesels engines running away and going "Ka Pooit" !

  31. Marshall_Will on March 20th, 2013 3:26 pm

Lol, then I'll have to SEE 'em! Had one of the young Airman splice together a "Borat" styled 'training' DVD from tannerite and exploding split rim tires for our 'safety' meeting.

White gas in beer bottle another HIT w/ the kids! Our mockumentary, slapped together, educational content, has nearly landed us in MAJOR hot water over the years. We've been told to Cease & Desist ( but then why do all the officers have a copy in their desk drawer? ) Lol

  32. ChapBix on March 22nd, 2013 1:36 am

Having hit rock-bottom, Dingy resorted to explosives to break up the rock so he could dig deeper. Sadly, or not, Dingy forgot to evacuate himself from the hole before igniting the explosives. But, then, what is new in the world of the left?

  33. ChapBix on March 22nd, 2013 1:38 am

I suspect DiFi and Dingy conjured up a deal to still get most everything she wants passed. Deja vu ACA and "you have to pass it first to find out what is in it" methodology.

  34. SignPainterGuy on March 22nd, 2013 2:18 am

You`re apparently right; Dingy introduced DiFi`s Background check-part of her dream today ! Everyone I`ve read says it can`t make it thru, so is Dingy betraying DiFi, or does he have more votes than we know ?
