The only thing that made me feel good about paying big bucks at the gas pump here in Missouri, is that I tell myself,  it’s a good thing that I don’t live in California, where gas got up to over $5 dollar a gallon last year. It’s the old self inflicted psychological, “Hey, at least I  don’t have cancer.” logic that seems to work every time.Jimmy Carter peanuts

It’s also a good marketing ploy: Look! Gas went down from $4.50 to $3.50! Whew!

The reason Californians pay such a hefty price  is because of the higher standards from the EPA. But Obama has come out and said he wants to make us all like California:

WASHINGTON (AP) — Reducing sulfur in gasoline and tightening emissions standards on cars beginning in 2017, as the Obama administration is proposing, would come with costs as well as rewards. The cost at the pump for cleaner air across the country could be less than a penny or as high as 9 cents a gallon, depending on who is providing the estimate.

The EPA is quick to add that the change aimed at cleaning up gasoline and automobile emissions would yield billions of dollars in health benefits by 2030 by slashing smog- and soot-forming pollution.

For those of us who actually remember how bad the pollution used to be in our cities, we are deeply impressed that Obama wants to save our lungs from the invisible smog that never happens here anymore.

It’s all for our health we are told, so pony up..but hey, if you want to inhale a big whiff of Mexican Green, and fill your lungs directly with a form of pollution more destructive than your grandfather’s old Marlboros, go ahead!  Since Colorado jumped on the legalization paddy, more states are considering hopping on the train to stoner highway…and you, like me, might be asking yourself…why?

Legalizing grass

(Hint: A stoned nation will accept just about anything as long as they can still afford pizza.) Not to mention, nobody can afford cigarettes anymore and taxing weed would make up lost revenue.)

This was also reported:

Former president Jimmy Carter came out this month and endorsed taxed-and-regulated weed. “I’m in favor of it,” Carter said. “I think it’s OK.”

So..it seems they are saying—Have some Acapulco Gold with some Canadian Black, but stay away from that cancer stick and gasoline, because we care about you. We don’t mind if you just stay home and get stoned. In fact… we’d appreciate it.

Does anyone else think life in the USA would be different in a much better way had the Peanut Man stayed on the farm or made a career of the Navy`s Submariner corps or perhaps even helped Billie to be a beer magnate instead of entering politics ?

Jimmy Carter conned the women into voing for him by promising them bigger and better goobers.

Carter found out his radiant smile couldn't melt the country's problems, and Obama found that his speeches don't work any better.

I'm looking forward to the Palin administration.

  3. Granny55 on March 30th, 2013 1:25 pm

That Palin administration is wishful thinking but the media will never let it happen. Look at what they are doing to Dr. Carson!!! Same thing. I love Sarah Palin but even people in the RINO party attack her. We have to overcome the liberal press and the traitors in our own party before we can even put up a candidate in the realm of a Palin. It is a tall order and I do believe it is something we are not going to be able to overcome until conservatives start their own party and rid ourselves of the traitors.

  4. joyannaadams on March 30th, 2013 3:06 pm

Well, my good mother suggested once, after watching Bill Clinton on TV, that the middle of the country should just secede from the Union, let California and New York have all the liberals, and keep the old America intact. After all, we'd have the food basket.

Then Palin and Dr. Carson could grab that Constitution that the liberals love to shred, and we'd all could go back to common sense.

Just think, if ordinary people like us had a say….

Just think, if ordinary people like us had a say….

Pretty sad commentary on our representatives isn't it??? They vote according to national polls thrown out there by the libs and how much money they will receive in the campaign coffers instead of voting for what their districts want. I really do think we need to go down the term limit path. Just think of the long termers who have created this mess and they come back election after election and tell us how they are going to fix it and then they get back to DC and stab us in the back. I say get rid of anyone who has been there more than ten years.

  6. SignPainterGuy on March 30th, 2013 3:23 pm

It`s bad enough we have to deal with libs / progressives and their wasteful spending, but when they have too much control, they often go totally BSC !

Hey, I'd go for four. And they would have to all abide by the laws they passed. Joyanna Adams

  9. ChapBix on March 30th, 2013 6:17 pm

I'm presuming that the four year term limitation was for representatives and not senators. That would take a major change to the constitution.

  10. backwoodsconsr on March 30th, 2013 6:22 pm

The left is going to viciously attack anyone and everyone who isn't a Democrat, or who disagrees with them in any way. To give up on a candidate on that basis is to say that only Democrats can get elected in this country. The Republicans have already tried running Democrat lite candidates and it hasn't worked. We need a fighter who can give the voters a clear alternative to the sounds good but doesn't work out so well policies of the Democrats. Palin's record of taking on the establishment and getting real reform in Alaska is precisely why I believe she is the fighter we need, and she will know when the time is right for her to make a run.

  11. Granny55 on March 30th, 2013 7:18 pm

Yeah after thinking about it four sounds about right because the new ones we put in during 2010 hopefully are doing their jobs…but even then those newbies have fallen prey to the establishment. Just take a look at Dan Benichek who took Bart Stupids Michigan Rep job. He was a tea party favorite and ended up being just shy of what Stupid did for how many years? So we have to be careful when selecting our candidates – many of them are sheep in wolves clothing.

  12. backwoodsconsr on March 30th, 2013 7:23 pm

By government standards, that's a bargain.

  13. SignPainterGuy on March 30th, 2013 7:52 pm

So who is trying to out-do whom ?

Btw, just watched 2 episodes of "R U Faster Than A Redneck ?"; 4: till 5:. Imports vs Rednecks – 6 to 2. I saw the factory racer `12 Mustang; nobody wanted to jump on it ! The first episode was the one I saw a few minutes of before. Bill in the Audi wagon is a local guy from Hendersonville.

I`ve been to Kershaw – CMP 3 times – 2 for bikes and once for cars; they weren`t using the whole track.

  14. backwoodsconsr on March 30th, 2013 7:58 pm

I thought it seemed rather short for a road course, but apparently it serves the show's purpose. A shorter track allows the races to fit into a half hour show.

  15. backwoodsconsr on March 30th, 2013 8:26 pm

The American people should have known that peanut farmer was nuts.

  16. Truesoldier__ on March 30th, 2013 9:13 pm

The funny thing is that their whole tax the weed idea is actually going to backfire and cause the cartels to continue to rule the market. Why, because they wont be taxing the product. As a matter of fact, the cartels stand to make much more profit as they can raise their prices slightly and still come in under what the "legal" price will be. So we will still have the problems with the drug cartels, but we will have a harder time prosecuting users.

  17. SignPainterGuy on March 30th, 2013 9:23 pm

Find Kershaw,SC on GE, then south on US-601 a few miles to CMP. You`ll see the track is set up as two with the bigger section east of what the show used.

You should see Daytona Prototypes and LMPs blistering around that place.

The wife and I got hooked watching the new TLC series "Weed Country". It's fairly ridiculous because if you really didn't know the area the casual viewer is left w/ the impression the *entire population* of NorCal and S. OR are in on the take..!

I assure you we are NOT. Sure there's lots of it and some even said pot $'s have kept home prices from collapsing in "The Emerald Triangle". Which may have some actual validity as many dealers have to launder the money somehow?

Still, the Progressive Pipedream of taxing weed to solve all our problems has always been as DOPEY as the substance itself…

  36. Marshall_Will on March 31st, 2013 7:47 pm

    2nd…! ( Or is that a 3rd? )

    Anyway, love it!

  37. SignPainterGuy on March 31st, 2013 11:29 pm

But, I heard it on TV, it has to be true. They don`t allow anything on TV that isn`t true ! I heard that on TV ! Same goes for the Internet, right ?

If your fresh produce is costing more than processed, frozen, or canned, then you are shopping poorly. Use farmer's markets and produce stand whenever possible.
