Hey, better late than never. Remember when Obama said he would never touch the middle-class? And then one day you opened your middle-class paycheck and Obama did take your money?

Kris 79

Well, look out: He’s saying it again. After a budget in both house were already in the bag, Obama decided to dictate what he wanted to do..uh…yeah, take more of your money. But trust him, he would never hurt the middle-class. The “middle’ class, if you haven’t figured it out yet, are all those people who are collecting government paychecks. Once again, it’s all in what you think the word “is” means.

Here’s some stuff from an excellent summary from Federal Eye at the Washington Post …the opinions in the parentheses are mine, and that’s all they are: smart-aleck opinions. Please…feel free to add your own.

Agriculture: Obama wants to eliminate direct payments to farmers, which accounted for about 44 percent of farm aid in fiscal 2011. (More small farmers will be decimated.)

Commerce Department: The president is seeking a 5 percent increase to the Commerce budget, to $8 billion. (It’s where Presidents help out the big CEO boys and go around Congress.)

Defense Department: Commissions to take on the controversial tasks of reducing or closing military bases and updating military retirement programs. (Reduce the military, of course.)

Education Department: For education, President Obama hopes to increase spending to $69.8 billion in 2013, which is 2.5 percent more than the current budget of $68.1 billion. (More college students, means more liberal brainwashing.)

Energy Department: The new budget proposal would raise funding for the Energy Department by 3.2 percent to $27.2 billion, boosting money for clean energy, research and development, and advanced manufacturing. (Here we go again, algae anyone?)

Health and Human Services: This includes assisting states with developing the complex technical infrastructure needed to set up the law’s “exchanges” — or state-based marketplaces through which individuals and small businesses will be able to purchase private health insurance with federal subsidies beginning in 2014. (Big Brother databases cost lots of money)

Intelligence: President Obama’s proposed fiscal 2013 budget contains $52.6 billion to fund the National Intelligence Agency. (Drones?)

Interior: The proposed White House budget would slash $200 million from a Department of the Interior program that helps six states with offshore oil and gas development — Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, California, Alaska and Alabama. (We will NOT be energy depended)

Justice Department: President Obama’s fiscal 2013 budget proposes $36.5 billion in spending for the Justice Department, an increase of $1.9 billion from the previous year. (This needs no comment…they don’t prosecute criminals, just the little guy with guns.)

State Department: The State Department would receive a modest boost in revenue, in part to offset costs for increased responsibilities in Iraq and Afghanistan.(We are paying them to train future terrorists, that’s important.)

Transportation: Mandatory and discretionary federal transportation funding would climb about 2 percent, or by $1.4 billion from the previous year, with major investments in highways and public transportation (You people HAVE to get out of those gas guzzlers.)

Treasury Department: The Obama administration proposed Monday increasing the Treasury Department’s budget to $14 billion, an increase of nearly 7 percent over its 2012 budget, with new funding directed toward enforcing the nation’s tax laws. (The IRS now has to collect Obamacare.)

Social Security: Wait… Federal Eye does not go into Social Security, (It’s the Washington Post, what do you expect?) but guess what, middle-class loonies? Obama is going to cut your SS check.

Was Paul Ryan right all you liberal duckcakes? Could it be that it’s actually Obama pushing granny off the cliff?

It will be interesting to see… what gets past.

FIRST, thankfully and comically, Oblameless continues his unbroken streak of submitting his budgets late and then getting "0", that`s ZERO, support from either side of the aisle, and I presume the middle of the aisle as well ! So, unless Pres. Double-Downgrade does an end-run around congress, we get a free laugh.

Look out Middle Class, it`s hammer time again.

It looks like Barry and the progressives want our kids in school by age 4; can`t start that marxist ed. too soon. And they want everyone to go to college and get degrees; lookout businesses who need unskilled labor, there won`t be anyone willing to do menial work, SOOOOO, more immigrants will be needed. Throw open the border Nappy Jan, open up the dem voter reg booths and bring in the workers ! Don`t forget to give them the Free Bennies handbooks (also avail. as free apps on your Apple iDevices) !

Hey all, please keep Joyanna, her husband and mostly the rest of her neighborhood in your prayers. She just emailed from a library to say that a tornado ripped through her neighborhood yesterday and badly damaged most homes — hers and one other were the only houses that didn't have significant damage, but they are without power and other services and probably will be for some time.

  3. jeffythequick on April 11th, 2013 3:37 pm

already there, right next to you in the prayers!

  4. jeffythequick on April 11th, 2013 3:39 pm

That guy reminds me of the guy selling stereos out of the back of his van:

He buys them (ha!) at $10/ea, then marks them up to $200, and then sells them for half off!

At least the stereo guy is adding value to your life.

  5. SignPainterGuy on April 11th, 2013 6:08 pm

Yes indeed, Doug ! I just heard about that tornado on the news. So far, no serious injuries.

    Prayers for all !

I was thinking along the lines of not buying the custom pickup I looked at recently. I saved $54,000 + tax, tag, title fees, insurance, gas, personal property tax…….

I feel "In the Black" already !

"Agriculture: Obama wants to eliminate direct payments to farmers, which accounted for about 44 percent of farm aid in fiscal 2011. (More small farmers will be decimated.)"

It's actually worse than that. He wants to stop buying food from US farmers to use for food aid to foreign countries and instead wants to pay farmers in foreign coutries for their food so as to distribute it in those countries.

Actually it is the other end of the school scale, he wants 4 year olds to go to pre-school so they can start indoctrination at the more formitive years.

  9. Truesoldier__ on April 11th, 2013 8:02 pm

"Interior: The proposed White House budget would slash $200 million from a Department of the Interior program that helps six states with offshore oil and gas development — Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, California, Alaska and Alabama."

So I guess "offshore" is what he means by "foreign oil" and he doesn't want us to be dependent on "foreign oil".

  10. Truesoldier__ on April 11th, 2013 8:03 pm

"State Department: The State Department would receive a modest boost in revenue, in part to offset costs for increased responsibilities in Iraq and Afghanistan."

Yep, just like the "responsibility" in Benghazi right.

    You bet!

  12. SignPainterGuy on April 11th, 2013 8:14 pm

Hmmm, Barry did support LOST (the Law of the Sea treaty) which would have given the Useless Nations control of our waters up to just a very few miles off our shores, so YES, that would classify "off shore" as Foreign. Good catch, TS !

Tracking down and buying back all the weapons we supplied to the rebels is expensive, don`tcha know ?!

  14. Marshall_Will on April 11th, 2013 8:50 pm

Wow, it's been a crazy Spring! Stay safe.

Good thing O'bama approved funding for those candle making classes down at the [not] ACORN community center for ____ huh? Looks like we'll need 'em.

  15. Marshall_Will on April 11th, 2013 8:56 pm

"there won`t be anyone willing to do menial work"

During their 15 mins. Hannity had OWS's spokesman on the show and the kid ( 'kid', the guy had to be freaking 30! ) about their sketchy work histories and OWS made no apologies!

When they say "I've DONE all those menial jobs!" ( the mean as a TEEN ) Um, not quite the same thing? But they'll hear none of it.

  16. Marshall_Will on April 11th, 2013 8:58 pm

OT but I only had a minute before heading out this AM. Has MM's site IT guy totally changed the commenting format? I logged on briefly and it looked totally unfamiliar. Didn't strike me there was even a log-in any more?

My Linux has been acting up but it looked like the same "Disquis" format as Twitchy and the font and look were all different. Do we still have to log in? TIA

  17. Marshall_Will on April 11th, 2013 9:02 pm

Actually, in a more stable, pro-biz environment and administration, that would be a good thing! But in typical totalitarian mandate fashion, this is just another way to stick it small biz people, their vendors and suppliers while basically GUTTING Red States.

In way, farm subsidies laid the progressive ground work for "subsidizing people". Ahem, John Deere and the other Ag. mfr. "heavies" have had a global ag. plan for years. But they've only been farming since the first metal plow replaced WOOD so wth would they know..?

  18. Truesoldier__ on April 11th, 2013 9:03 pm

Wow, just went and checked and see it is totally different. I wont be able to comment from work anymore as we use an older IE that is not compatible with the new setup, so not sure if you do/don't need to log in.

  19. Truesoldier__ on April 11th, 2013 9:19 pm

I agree. My opinion is that we should not be subsidizing either to be honest, but if we are going to then I would rather sudsidize the American farmer instead of my tax $'s are going to go for subsidizing some 3rd world farm, which means in reality it will end up in the pocket of some thuggish dictator.

Makes me wonder how much of the money is ending up in the pockets of the poppy farmers in Afghanistan?

  20. Marshall_Will on April 11th, 2013 9:21 pm

Could well be the case. I use Mozilla and Ubuntu ( especially on my laptop ) so it def. looks funky to me. I have a Windows-based Dell at home so it'll be fine from that perspective and of course Doug AND MM are "Restricted" when you're on the base.

  21. Marshall_Will on April 11th, 2013 9:55 pm

And the (2) needn't be mutually exclusive? ( Can't we cut them -both- off? )

In any regard, Joyanna was spot on here. A 'budget' filled w/ twisted priorities and again the childish, IMPISH perception that simply throwing money at the right int. groups/slackers will provide all the catalyst ever needed to spark the appropriate responses all prog's thirst for!

We need to END this pResidency by whatever means available.

It`s your regular Disqus commenting format, so expect what you`re used to with it. You don`t have to sign in with MM, but you do have to give her permission to access your Profile at first comment. After that, it`s a go. Lots of new commenters as there`s no restrictions, and some oldies are back, having been banned or something.

Change is good, except when it isn`t ! ;-)

  23. Marshall_Will on April 11th, 2013 10:40 pm

I'll take a look and as one of her first commentors on Twitchy, I don't recall a lot of 'features' on it. No ability to highlight quotes, italics or strong emphasis. Your links don't hyper either ISTR?

  24. Marshall_Will on April 11th, 2013 10:59 pm

The only way I'll be able to get in ( at present ) is using my real name. Which uh… ( given the vindictive nature of trolls around the conservative blogoshphere ) I'd just as soon not do. If they could "get you fired" or stage a protest in front of your HOUSE, they WOULD!

I'll have to re-configure my Google Blooger account just to be able to post. Was this really necessary..?

  25. SignPainterGuy on April 11th, 2013 11:15 pm

Set up a Disqus acct. in whatever name you want ! It`s easy enough for `puter dummy me to figure out and only takes a very few minutes, PLUS, you can upload a pic for your avatar !

"Education Department: For education, President Obama hopes to increase spending to $69.8 billion in 2013…"

Aye, methinks that would be the "Department of Progressive Education" (DOPE).

We have a super spiffy DOPE success story right here in Atlanta. Former Supt of Schools Beverly Hall championed a program that dramatically increased students standardized test scores almost overnight!! It was a f'n miracle. The urban students soared past their suburban counterparts and the district claimed numerous honors, awards and accolades – as well as hefty bunuses for district admin & teachers (based on the test scores). One little glitch…

"3 dozen indicted in Atlanta cheating scandal" It was all BS. The teachers literally gave the students answers during tests – or simply erased errant answers and corrected them afterwards.

40% of the kids are functionally illiterate. Hence the DOPE logo fits quite well.

  27. SignPainterGuy on April 11th, 2013 11:33 pm

How did those DOPEs think they wouldn`t be caught ?

  28. Marshall_Will on April 11th, 2013 11:53 pm

Oh..! Already had one from Twitchy enrollment.

Still, I've learned to dread commenting changes. One of my fave guitar blogs is on like their (3rd) format and each time you have to set up a new 'account'.

Disquis seems more 'urgent' but I miss the edit features already. I understand running a ( for profit ) blog means changing w/ the times but again, in my mind, just another case for paid subscriptions.

  29. swede on April 12th, 2013 12:31 am

Cuz noooooobody would dare question achievement in Atlanta inner city schools – cuz if you did, well, you'd be a RAAAAAAAACIST for sure.

Beautiful irony… they were exposed by a fifth grader who WANTED TO TAKE HER OWN TEST, and refused the teacher's intervention! Even more beautiful, when she took it on her own she set a record reading comprehension score. God bless her heart!
    http://news.yahoo.com/3-dozen-indicted-atlanta-ch

I'm starting to believe it is people like her who will ultimately defeat this loony lib mob.

  30. swede on April 12th, 2013 12:59 am

Addendum: Dr Beverly Hall who's at the center of this slop is "SUPER DOPE"…

Hall was named the 2009 National Superintendent of the Year by the American Association of School Administrators, the top professional honor for a K-12 education leader in the United States.

Hall chairs Harvard University's Urban Superintendents Program Advisory Board, mentoring participants in the doctoral program.

She serves on the International Benchmarking Advisory Group, which works to ensure that all American students receive a world-class education.

Formerly a member of the Teaching Commission, which developed policy recommendations to address the country's teaching crisis.

She's the best there is – in public education. Nuff said.

  31. SignPainterGuy on April 12th, 2013 1:04 am

Disqus does offer the "edit" option; it`s up to the admin. to incl. it.

I like the email notification option for replies, rating, reply directly to comment, newest comments first, other things, but having to scroll up and down and loading more comments gets old.

  32. Marshall_Will on April 12th, 2013 1:33 am

happyscrapper said one of the reasons she seldom comments at HA is.., "I can't even find my own comment in a SEA of comments or even track follow up conversations to defend my position?" (para)

The Housing Bubble Bog often disintegrated into chaos b/c there were so many OT conversations. At the height of The Bubble we were running 500+ comments an HOUR.

But I WILL say commenting at MM's was getting stale ( post election ) and anything that more emulates Twitter she's bound to gravitate toward. In ways, we were all starting our 'own' blogs on HER dime.

But with what looks like an open enrollment it will be difficult to police. Hard to say if it will last? Not a fan of providing a platform for prog trolls to spew their bile. IMHO

  33. Marshall_Will on April 12th, 2013 1:38 am

Michelle Rhee ( Students First? ) exposed a similar SCAM when she was super in the DC edu-circus. Um.., "averages" are hard to change! Whether you're trading stocks or batting in the big leagues.

Years of under performance don't get turned around ( when compared to LIFETIME avg's ) 'overnight'. You're up against so many different statistical laws it isn't funny.

Then again PEU educators figure we're all as dumb as the students and their parents?

  34. Truesoldier__ on April 12th, 2013 1:46 am

Well dear leader always wants to be "an historic pResident", well he is making it so. I mean getting zero votes for multiple, consecutive years has to be a record that will stand the test of time.

Of course what is sad is the lackluster GOP has failed to seize on the opportunity to point this out to the American public. All they need to do is go on the Sunday shows and talk about it no matter what the subject is supposed to be. Instead the send the bobsy twins (Graham and McCain) out to tell us what crazy people we are for actually wanting to uphold the Constitution by trashing Ted Cruz, Rand Paul and Mike Lee.

  35. SignPainterGuy on April 12th, 2013 2:08 am

I`m certainly with you there, it`s impossible for me to cypher the comments at HA; I`ve commented exactly twice. Disqus is a better format, but not without its drawbacks ! This one is easiest for me, w/ FB second.

Btw, I noticed your comment at MM`s and gave it a thumb`s up.

  36. SignPainterGuy on April 12th, 2013 2:23 am

Add to his historicivity (historicality ?), he`s about to be the first ever to spend $4 Trillion in one year. Didn`t we go thru several before they had spent $1 T combined ? I just hope no one tells him what comes after a trillion !

Yes indeed, the GOP is a constant source of disappointment, rarely missing an opportunity to miss an opportunity to do the tuff, right thing !

  37. swede on April 12th, 2013 2:27 am

"You're up against so many different statistical laws it isn't funny."

Yeah, the Paul Harvey "rest of the story" in ATL was the Atlanta Journal Constitution wrote a piece on the statistical improbability of what was happening – and investigators followed up – but it was the fifth grader Juwanna Guffie who spoke up first. Guts, veracity and character. Best lesson she'll ever get from this school system.

  38. SignPainterGuy on April 12th, 2013 2:30 am

Dang, that`s just scary talk !

  39. Marshall_Will on April 12th, 2013 2:38 am

Oh cool! Yeah and I want to be somewhat careful here. Blogging is essentially critiquing. Then we turn around and critique the very format that *allows* us to CRITIQUE?

The perfect [electronic] complaint/suggestion box! MM is more interested in "what hashtags are tracking" then a 5+ paragraph RANT from me or anyone else. As usual, she's right.

It's the immediacy, the urgency in the marketplace for ideas that matters now. Not some well written account of how we lost yet another election ( 6 mos. AFTER the election? )

On a related note, like all Bases we've had our share of problems. But rather than wait and "build the perfect case" or continue to provide 'rope', I step in immediately now! In today's world, a sin committed 6 mos. ago no longer qualifies. And people KNOW it..! Look at all the fantastic work MM did on Solyndra, and none of it mattered. So why dig and dig?

  40. Marshall_Will on April 12th, 2013 2:44 am

    swede,

Interestingly, like Jaime Escalante ( Stand And Deliver ) whose passing MM noted w/ dignity and nobody else seemed to remember..? I tutored one of the young Airman on his course and he came within (1) point avg. of what MY final score was..!

Over the years I developed a very specific system employed in Securities licensing tests. Namely, don't study WRONG 'answers'..! So I have a cheat sheet method that works in crunch-time situations, but it's not 'teaching'. It's about beating the system.

But the difference IS ( I realize the difference )

  41. SignPainterGuy on April 12th, 2013 2:48 am

I take it MM has several moderators. What`a job for just one.

MM has a great rep. for picking her battles. She`ll hammer something, mention it and be done with it or not touch it at all. It would be interesting to watch a day in her life.

Solyndra, for instance; she hammered it, schooled us well and we go out and spread the word and still we hear, "What, who ?" The MSM barely touched them.
