Watch out — the “train wreck” is now on the surface roads:

The North Carolina Department of Transportation sent out a traffic alert, warning people of female drivers, rain and Obamacare.

The North Carolina DOT sends out routine alerts to drivers about accidents and road work using email and Twitter messages.

On Wednesday, the NCDOT sent out an alert which reads: “A High severity incident has been Added for I-40 Eastbound in Wake County in Raleigh,” before going on to list the incident as “Vehicle Accident: Women Drivers, Rain, Obama Care.”

As evidenced below, the above faux pas cost somebody their government contract:

“The individual violated procedures by failing to turn off the external feed while testing and for the inappropriate test message content. The contractor was let go immediately for this action,” DOT officials said in a statement.

That contractor is expected to be immediately hired as part of the HealthCare.gov re-design team.

    What the…!? Lol

The message then advised drivers: “Stay Home.” Too bad that tweet didn't go out from the DNC about a year ago TONIGHT huh?

Am I missing something here? It's illegal to use your cell while driving in most of the 57 states. How are we supposed to drive and check texts/tweets at the same time! Personally, not sure how comfortable I am having dot.gov ANYTHING asserting that much a role in our daily lives?

The scale's all wrong here! As Judge Janine pointed out in her on-air rant, Obama from his first day in office wouldn't detach himself from his Crackberry, as the author of "Double Down" noted as well. ( h/t PTB ) We've already discussed this WH "governing by Twitter".

Shouldn't there at least be a Tangible-to-Twitter Ratio (TM) taxpayers can expect from their government? To wit; when the DOT puts forth a near identical effort putting up a sign that sez "Bump" when they could have just as easily REPAIRED the 'bump'? Let's not do anything to FIX healthcare ( let's just tweet some really trendy sounding talking points about it! )

So the contractor was let go for making the mistake of forgetting to turn off the live feed; yet Sibelius is still employed after all the O'Scare problems? Sounds to me like this contractor could have a lawsuit for wrongful termination.

Agreed. It does seem absurd to think that the DOT paid a contractor to get truckers to violate the law. Could that be considered entrapment if the truck driver is pulled over for looking at his text messages while driving?

    Best line from the article:

“Sounds like Obama decided to enter the Persian nuclear bazaar to haggle with the masters of negotiation.”

There was also this out of VA.

Makes you wonder how many of them were also registered to vote in VA when they obtained their illegal drivers licenses.
