Happy New Year’s Eve!

At some point in the next day or so, this site will be switching to a new server. Huge thanks to Mike Lasalle for his expertise and efforts in making the change.

We’ve been through this drill before. Sometimes it takes a day or two for things to settle back to normal. We’ll see.

If there’s any down time, remember you can still catch me over at Michelle’s site.

Have a great New Year’s Eve all! We have some fireworks left over from the 4th of July, so if you hear anything loud tonight, it’s just us blowing stuff up.

Whilst angling for Last Post or perhaps more specifically ( last person -sober- enough to post..!@? ) odds are:

This is a year Dimmocrats & Progs are infinitely more eager to put behind them than Romney voters. By any realistic measure, 2013 has become [the] worst year in DNC history. That is… until 2014! rolls around!

The mass exodus of cab. mbrs., appointees and celeb-ambassadors will begin *early* this round when it becomes apparent an impeachment proof majority can no longer be maintained. Much as we saw unfold in 2011. That is until Jimmy Carter's grandson saved the failing re-election campaign with.., what was it again? Or Hurricane Sandy or their incredibly successful "War On Women" ignites! Last minute B of A campaign loan? Yeah…..

With any luck there'll be a mass shooting each week to distract voters from the bill of goods they've been sold. Perusing the (55) tax exemptions, many decades old, marked to expire, Mr. Consumer can brace for one Inflation Shockwave after another, in some sectors, as early as the 1st quarter.

The site is still up (whether it is functional or not remains to be seen). Marshall Will, yours may be the second to last comment today on this thread.

Anyway, happy new year in 2014 to Doug and this great community of commenters!

Thanks! It's only 6pm here on the west coast and Mrs. Will won't be prepared to head out for… awhile!

It's a great time to reflect on all the various bozos & dreamers that have slithered in and OUT of O'stration. Mostly for the relative safety of academia. Chu, Foolsbee, Motown heiresses, muse Penny Pritzker even Kumar?

They're all really inspirational… Watching the wheels ( rims, leaf springs and under carriage ) come of the Prog Dream will make all our 2014.

Celebrating at home with some great wine and a beautiful black cat, that I convinced to come in from the bitter cold…he was unsure about things at first but after some food and a warm cozy bed…he thinks he made the right decision. lol

    Happy New Year to everyone!

    Congrats, Doug…. http://directorblue.blogspot.com/2013/12/fab50-an

    *SPG* wish you were here.

Considering the differences in time zones between us, you could make the last post of your old year after I make the first post of my new year. I wonder what Einstein would make of that.

A friend once asked me what the Theory of Relativity is. While I was considering the problem of explaining that in a few words, he pointed out that he probably wouldn't understand it well enough to know if I was telling him the truth or pulling his leg. So I gave him this explanation:

The Theory of Relativity says that the longer you're in the presence of your relatives, the slower time seems to move. That's General Relativity. Special Relativity says that this is particularly true for inlaws.

Happy New Year to Mr. Powers and all the Powerblogsters.! And funny thing backwoodconser, I was just wondering about that last night: Even though time is happening all at once on planet earth, we still mark the rotations as being a "day' in the future, so why can't we say when we take a plane to Australia, who is ahead of us..that we traveled into the future?

    And I wasn't even drinking.

I had an aunt who was a missionary in India, and she traveled from India to the United States instantaneously. She left India at 9:00 on Wednesday morning and arrived in the United States at 9:00 on Wednesday morning.
