Thursday night, Michelle Obama appeared on The Tonight Show (now hosted by Jimmy Fallon) and participated in a sketch called “Ew!”

This is a pretty good imitation of a kid’s reaction to a school lunch made under FLOTUS’ dietary guidelines:

I’m not a huge fan of Vine videos on a blog, but that told a quick and effective story about what’s left of America after the libs have helped “fix” things.

    Doug's back! Ew!

Oops! Did I say that out loud? :)

    Jimmy Fallon… Ew!.

Not sure how big a fan of Vines I am anywhere? Brent Bozell's coverage of Jimmy's incessant PO/FLOTUS water carrying ( isn't he a bit OLD to go by 'Jimmy' ? ) was nothing short of nauseating.

And to what end? P'BO has "more flexibility and no more elections to face" ( hot mic para) so how important is winning over Fallon's demographic? Over and over… Insofar as most conservative observers can ascertain, commandeering talk TV is evidence of frenzied paranoia any void in fawning will be filled by the Right.

Jimmy, avg. tenure on the show spans (2) decades, yet you're betting your entire ( ratings driven ) future sucking up to a lame duck/impeachment roadkill. Unless *you* have privy the rest of us don't?

Round of drinks to anyone finding (1) positive comment in defense of this 'skit' ( not-so-cleverly disguised propaganda )

The repulsion, rejection and indignation cuts across gender and age uniformly. Nice work NBC! Whatever you guys do, don't let universal disgust enter into your decision making process. Just keep pushing on that string. We'll eventually get it, especially when all opposing formats are removed from the airwaves…

Hi MW…..couldn't find any positive comments…

"What's next twerking at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier?"

"Why do people keep calling her lady?"

  5. Doug on February 23rd, 2014 2:34 am

Dem strategists are wet-dreaming over Fallon hosting The Tonight Show because it's going to be an unchallenged open mic night for their BS propaganda whenever they like.

Notice how Fallon's production staff didn't "accidentally" play the song "Lyin' Ass Bitch" when FLOTUS appeared like they did with Michele Bachmann.

The only reason I can see is in a hopes to retain the Senate. If the GOP takes the Senate then impeachment and removal becomes a real possibility.

Besides, Fallon is nothing more than a yes man. It is pretty obvious to me that NBC was told by Dear Leader to get rid of Leno because Leno didn't pull any punches on Dear Leader and we all know how thin skinned Dear Leader is. So NBC get rid of Leno and brings in their own version of Ron Burgundy to make the administration happy (and keep the no taxes for GE in place).

I was thinking that the "lady" term was more like that of a dog, you know kinda like Hank Hill calling for lady bird.

  8. Truesoldier__ on February 23rd, 2014 1:32 pm

True, but it seems to me like they are preaching to the choir. The only people who seem to be watching Fallon are the ones that drank the Kool-Aid already.

Nice to have you back Doug. Hope the vacation was great. Though it looks like you are about to be greeted in your return by that which you were trying to escape:

  10. Marshall_Will on February 24th, 2014 12:23 am

I'll respectfully disagree.., Ron Burgundy is actually funny!

What a sad end for the great career Jay had. Progs will hastily point out how he was "well compensated!" by the show, and of course his extensive, priceless auto collection. But that's missing the point; to any stand up guy, they'd rather see the $'s dry up than the laughs. It's just how they're wired.

  11. Marshall_Will on February 24th, 2014 12:26 am

The twerking one tickled my funny bone as well. Lol indeed. Insofar as the IJR's core audience, even if it were more aligned w/ a Fox/TP demographic, it seemed the comments more centered on appropriateness of conduct, not content.

Doubt that little ditty was well rec'd in any circle?

  12. Marshall_Will on February 24th, 2014 12:32 am

Probably, but again, this seems more about filling any possible 'void' in media coverage than growing an audience. We'll need to set up a JF Fact Checker and hammer his azz on Twitter.

This isn't destined for the long term. A skinny little white guy serving up beehind smoochy will lose its schtick in no time flat. The O'Care ads carpet bombing the 18-30 demo dried up in a matter of weeks if not days.

  13. Truesoldier__ on February 24th, 2014 1:36 am

Agreed, Ron Burgundy was funny, but Fallon is not as he is just a mere shadow of that.

  14. Truesoldier__ on February 24th, 2014 1:38 am

What will be interesting to see is just how long Fallon lasts and just whom will they replace him with when the rating plummet.

  15. Marshall_Will on February 24th, 2014 2:58 am

As has been the case w/ Olberman/Maher etc., when the ratings [predictably] tank, they'll feel forced to push the already strained bounds of 'civility'.

People don't turn to late-night TV for directed personal attacks, roiling political scenarios, lengthy joke setups and strained explanations requiring total new cycle devotion. Just a hardy chuckle before nigh-night.

They'll start splattering the screen w/ graphics of what they'll portray as 'embarrassing' conservative tweets that the studio audience will have to be briefed on before the big punch line. The sporadic/premature forced laughter will in turn bewilder the home audience. And a confused mind always says No.

  17. Doug on February 24th, 2014 4:55 am

Thanks… and yes, it's approaching March here but yet the high temp in a couple of days will be about ten degrees.

At what point does the "global" part get included in "global warming"?

  18. Marshall_Will on February 24th, 2014 11:30 am

Ooops! Just noticed CNN pulled Piers Morgan's show…

What a shame. Now it appears TV sycophants are objective driven and entirely disposable? Who could have foreseen THAT?

  19. Truesoldier__ on February 24th, 2014 11:39 am

Now what would truly be funny is to see empty seats in the audience. Do you think they would try to disguise that with mannequins and laugh tracks?

  20. Truesoldier__ on February 24th, 2014 11:43 am

I saw that. One of the things that I noticed was this little comment from PM:

The former tabloid editor, who has transformed himself into a cable news personality, said that dwindling viewing figures and an anti-gun campaign that alienated a vast swath of his audience had led him to conclude that his show had "run its course".

I guess PM has finally had to admit to himself what liberals do not want to admit, Most Americans do not have a problem with firearms.

  21. Truesoldier__ on February 24th, 2014 11:49 am

No kidding. I saw that the majority of the Great Lakes is covered in ice as well this winter, so no the Goracle is heading south to Kansas to say that if we do not do something today about GW the dust bowl will return in short order.

Of course his "facts" are dubious as ever. Like his claim that the flooding in CO was the worst ever, but the Denver Post ran an opinion piece that ran 5 months ago that contradicts the Goracle with actual facts:

It was a twofer yesterday – Alec Baldwin is retiring from public life and moving to LA to escape the papzo's. In the NY article he made a couple homophobic insults on his way. How long before he smacks down another photog or gay person out on the left coast. If he wants to escape to somewhere liberal and out of the spot light he should head to somewhere like Minnesota!

  23. backwoodsconservative on February 24th, 2014 11:59 am

They could go out in the cemetery and dig up some Democrat voters to put in the audience.

  24. backwoodsconservative on February 24th, 2014 12:49 pm

That's a great idea! There are 10,000 lakes for him to drown in.

I do trust all of the ideas you have offered in your post. They are very convincing and can certainly work. Still, the posts are too short for starters. May just you please lengthen them a little from subsequent time? Thank you for the post.
