Maybe he was busy presiding over another DNC happy hour.

Via PJ Media:

President Obama had no public events on his schedule today, yet skipped a meeting of his national security team at the White House today as they huddled over the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Seen leaving the meeting at the White House were Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel, Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Martin Dempsey, and CIA Director John Brennan.

Vice President Joe Biden reportedly joined the meeting via videoconference, while Obama was briefed later by National Security Advisor Susan Rice.

In defense of Obama, maybe he thought it was a waste of his time to go to a security meeting about a country that’s no longer a threat:

Obama did however speak with Putin by phone yesterday. Probably just to mock Mitt Romney for thinking Russia still posed a threat.

Mitt went onto correct Obama in that debate about Russia…and that footage is being lost….probably in Vince Foster's old trashcan.

What do you expect when he appoints people like Kerry and Hillary in his cabinet?. The closest Kerry ever got to danger was when a bullet missed his cocktail glass in Vietnam, and Hillary closest danger came when she passed Monica in the White House hallway. Not to mention, Obama's closest advisor seems to be Beyoncé.

I'd say Obama couldn't see Russia even if you put the whole country on the 18th hole.

Think indoor golf. I tried this a few decades ago. Definitely not the same as hitting a ball into the woods or tall rough, but does allow one to work on a so-so swing.

I guess this is what Dear Leader meant by more flexibility.

How would the US feel, if Russia intervened in events in Mexico? The Ukraine used to be part of the Soviet Union. None of our business really.
