Dan Rather, Godfather of Fake News, lectures about ‘truth’ and the FISA memo

Holy crap, is this guy the least self-aware person in media, or what?

Sometimes the developments of the Russia investigation rush into our news cycles and news feeds like the deluge of a summer storm. Sometimes they drip, drip, drip like a leaky faucet. Today, with the release of the controversial memo, there seemed to be a lot energy – but it is unclear what it will end up signifying.

Most respectable analysts have determined that the contents of the memo are thin – a far cry from the blockbuster that was promised. And that is even if you buy the conclusions outlined in the memo on face value, and not grossly misleading as many with inside knowledge of the truth have argued.

But the White House, fueled by a right wing media echo chamber, refuses to follow this analysis. Why would they? Confusion and smoke screens are their defense. This is the height of a dangerous cynicism. The goal of the White House and its willing enablers is to make what is really true into a forgettable sidebar.

Dan’s got a set of stones on him so big they belong on Easter Island. Oh, and by “many with knowledge of the truth,” Rather’s referring to liberals in Congress. Because he’s super-objective like that.

The level of arrogance required for Dan-Freakin’-Rather NOT to recuse himself from a discussion about the veracity of documents is off the charts.
