Who’s up for some NARAL ‘Rocky Roe v. Wade’ ice cream?

There are four flavors for sale, and unfortunately one of them isn’t “Totally Deminted”:

I’m half surprised they didn’t have a flavor with the word crunchy or chunky in the title, because they’re that self-unaware.

They were going to guarantee that the ice cream would be at least as cold as their hearts before discovering their freezers couldn’t push the temp down that far.

Couple who believed evil was a ‘make believe concept’ bicycled near ISIS territory — Guess what happened next

Via the Daily Wire, this is submitted without comment because it isn’t necessary, except to say there’s a lesson here that some progressives refuse to accept:

A young American couple who took a year-long bike trip around the world, believing that evil was a make-believe concept, took a fatal route in Tajikistan near the Afghan border, where alleged ISIS terrorists stabbed them to death.

Jay Austin and Lauren Geoghegan, 29, quit their jobs last year in order to make their trip. Austin was a vegan who worked for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development; Geoghegan, a vegetarian who worked in the Georgetown University admissions office.
While in Morocco, Austin wrote:

You watch the news and you read the papers and you’re led to believe that the world is a big, scary place. People, the narrative goes, are not to be trusted. People are bad. People are evil. People are axe murderers and monsters and worse.

I don’t buy it. Evil is a make-believe concept we’ve invented to deal with the complexities of fellow humans holding values and beliefs and perspectives different than our own—it’s easier to dismiss an opinion as abhorrent than strive to understand it. Badness exists, sure, but even that’s quite rare. By and large, humans are kind. Self-interested sometimes, myopic sometimes, but kind. Generous and wonderful and kind. No greater revelation has come from our journey than this.

While the media was busy slamming Trump, lefty rock star Ocasio-Cortez banned them from a town hall so her constituents would ‘feel safe’

AOC’s response almost sounds like she’s saying the media’s the “enemy of the people.”

This week the press has probably been too preoccupied with teaming up nationwide to slam Trump over calling the media the “enemy of the people” and “fake news” to notice that the left’s newest darling doesn’t always embrace them either:

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez tweeted on Monday that stops on her “listening tour” throughout the district, like the one held a day earlier in Corona, are “intended for lively, compassionate discourse with a diversity of viewpoints.”

According to the Democratic nominee in the 14th Congressional District, she and the dozens of area residents who attended the event “talked about race, immigration, healthcare, disability rights and housing.”

But unless you were in the room on Sunday, you won’t know what specific community problems were mentioned or how Ocasio-Cortez planned to address them once she is sworn in.

That’s because her campaign banned members of the media from attending the event, which was otherwise open to the public.

Ocasio-Cortez explained later the move was made so her constituents attending could “feel safe”:

Wow, it almost sounds as if she’s saying the press is the “enemy of the people”!

Pollster midterm odds look encouraging for Dems, until you remember the pollster odds a couple years ago

Anybody who uses pollster predictions as a basis for whether they’ll bother to go vote or not hasn’t been paying attention.

With the midterm elections less than three months away, the pollster odds are starting to roll in.

The pollsters at FiveThirtyEight give the Dems a 75 percent chance of re-taking the House:

But then again…

NPR’s going all-out to help Dems keep their fingers crossed:

But then again…

Pollster Frank Luntz doesn’t think it looks good for the GOP:

But then again…

Anybody who uses pollster predictions as a basis for whether they’ll bother to go vote or not hasn’t been paying attention.

SO helpful! NY Gov. Andrew Cuomo coins perfect slogan for Dem convention: America Was Never That Great

Trump hat: MAGA — Cuomo hat: AWNTG

So today New York governor and possible Democrat candidate for president Andrew Cuomo actually said America “was never that great.” No, seriously:

Oh please let that guy run for the Dem nomination!

Trump hat: MAGA

Cuomo hat: AWNTG

Though Cuomo might raise a few dollars selling his version to Vox, ThinkProgress and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s fan club.

Cuomo’s campaign tried to spin it as best as they could:

Think it through: ‘In Trump World everyone lies’ according to Omarosa, former longtime inhabitant of Trump World

Maybe the book should have been called “Projection”

This is like one of those logical head-scratchers. “Hmm… everybody from Trump World lies, you’re from Trump World, therefore…”

After releasing a series of damaging recordings of conversations with White House officials and President Trump, former White House staffer and “Apprentice” star Omarosa Manigault Newman said she needed to “protect herself” during the 2016 campaign and in the White House because in “Trump world, everyone lies.”

“Everyone says one thing one day, and they change their story the next day,” Omarosa said on “CBS This Morning” on Tuesday.

So far, considering reactions to claims made in her book, it should have been titled “Projection” instead of “Unhinged.”

Over 100 newspapers try to prove Trump’s wrong to accuse MSM of bias by coordinating simultaneous publication of anti-Trump editorials

They’re making a point, but not the one they think

Remember when the mainstream media nearly passed out from hyperventilation after Sinclair was discovered to have distributed a script to all its stations for a PSA about their commitment to the truth in their newscasts?

Media coordination is bad when a more conservative outlet does it within their own group, but when the liberal media does something similar and it’s anti-Trump, then that’s something to be celebrated:

These people owe Sinclair an apology for all the criticism, and what Sinclair did was within its own organization (and not uncommon in broadcast groups), not throughout a cross-section of unaffiliated outlets. But yet here we are:

“The dirty war on the free press must end.”

That’s the idea behind an unusual editorial-writing initiative that has enlisted scores of newspapers across America.

The Boston Globe has been contacting newspaper editorial boards and proposing a “coordinated response” to President Trump’s escalating “enemy of the people” rhetoric.

“We propose to publish an editorial on August 16 on the dangers of the administration’s assault on the press and ask others to commit to publishing their own editorials on the same date,” The Globe said in its pitch to fellow papers.

The effort began just a few days ago.

As of Saturday, “we have more than 100 publications signed up, and I expect that number to grow in the coming days,” Marjorie Pritchard, the Globe’s deputy editorial page editor, told CNN.

I didn’t always completely despise the mainstream media. Hell, I spent 20 years working for a broadcast company at a CBS affiliate, and at a local level news stations are still usually reliable sources of information. But nationally, to a great degree, “journalism” in the mainstream media has become an embarrassment and a bad joke. And you know what’s even sadder? Many “journalists” don’t see it, and if they do, they blame the news consumer — you. But don’t take my word for it, here’s a CNN reporter saying just that:

Basically the mainstream media thinks you’re dumb and that’s why you don’t believe everything they say.

I hate to break the news to her, but if there was a concerted effort to teach kids in school how to spot BS, trust in the media would get a lot worse, not better.

What a credibility boost! Peter Strzok gets canned by the FBI, immediately starts passing the hat for Resistance donations

FBI agent Peter Strzok, whose texts made it clear that at the time the agency was investigating allegations of Trump campaign collusion with Russia before the election, has been fired. It’s now an honored tradition among sh*tcanned anti-Trump Resistance warriors to pass the hat afterwards, and Strzok is no different:

As of right now the amount of money raised is approaching $40,000. The number of suckers born every minute in the phrase “there’s a sucker born every minute” needs to be dramatically increased these days.

As it’s been pointed out, the real irony here is that Peter Strzok has almost single-handedly contributed to the credibility of the FBI’s Russia investigation, and yet liberals are sending him money.

So anyway, I have a new financial strategy now:

GREEN movement: DNC decides after 2 long months that maybe fossil fuel industry donations aren’t all that bad after all

THAT didn’t last long

My tweet best summed up how I feel about this story:

The DNC just wanted to make sure they remain fully committed to the “green” movement:

The Democratic National Committee passed a resolution Friday afternoon that activists say effectively reverses a ban on fossil fuel company donations.

The resolution introduced by DNC Chair Tom Perez states that the party “support[s] fossil fuel workers” and will accept donations from “employers’ political action committees.” It was approved by a 30-2 vote just two months after the committee adopted another resolution prohibiting donations from fossil fuel companies by a unanimous vote.

The new resolution nods to “forward-looking employers” that are “powering America’s all-of-the-above energy economy and moving us towards a future fueled by clean and low-emissions energy technology, from renewables to carbon capture and storage to advanced nuclear technology.”

Just watch now, in an Al Gore-ian twist, the Democrats will spin this to their angry base by pledging to spend the fossil fuel company donations to support candidates who will warn the world that fossil fuels are destroying the earth.

Of course: Anti-ICE Philadelphia mayor blames ICE for not doing enough to save child from direct result of his sanctuary city policy

Remember Philadelphia Mayor Jim “sanctuary city happy dance” Kenney we talked about a couple days ago and the illegal alien released by his city who went on to rape a child?

Guess who the mayor blames? You guessed it — ICE:

What an absolutely shameless POS:

Mayor Kenney, attending a press conference Wednesday on illegal guns, forcefully defended the city’s policy of rejecting ICE detainers for the undocumented without a judge’s warrant to hold them. He says six times last year the city handed over people it was holding when the feds got a warrant.

But McSwain, appointed United States Attorney by President Trump, who’s staked out a get-tough immigration policy, argues the city gave Vasquez a “free pass.”

“What really fosters trust between law enforcement and the community is respect for the rule of law in including immigration laws,” McSwain said.

Mayor Kenney agrees the case is horrible, but argues the solution is as simple as getting a legal document.

“You do see this as a tragedy. No other way to look at it?” Cole asked. Mayor Kenney replied, “An absolute tragedy, but all they had to do is get a warrant and we would have turned him over.”

Got that? The mayor who hates ICE blames ICE for not doing enough to save the child from a criminal released due to his own insane sanctuary city policy.
