I’ll be spending Christmas with family and I hope you’re all doing the same.

Hard to believe that 2011 is almost over, but that’s fine because 2012 is going to be pretty interesting.

I’ll pour a strong Bacardi & Diet Coke for whoever can sit through the whole thing — which is kind of a catch-22 because booze is what’s required in order to be able to sit through the whole thing:

I’m proud to represent Team Marine, and it was an honor to be asked to help out once again this year.

Instead of mirroring a post I wrote at Michelle’s place, just head over there for details on what Project Valour-IT is, and how you can help this great cause. The fundraising competition goes through July 14th, so I’ll have occasional updates. The overall goal is $100,000 — or $25,000 per team — but goals are made to be eclipsed.

Thanks for any help you’re able to provide the heroes who have sacrificed so much for our freedom!

Two possible discussion points: Planned Parenthood is wishing moms a happy Mother’s Day using the occasion to ask for donations. It never ceases to amaze me.

And here’s video showing President Obama in Florida, a couple of hours after “operation double tap Bin Laden” got underway. Obama stepped off Air Force One and exchanged little pieces of paper with Air Force Brig. General Ed Wilson. Feel free to speculate what’s on the pieces of paper. HAP thinks the General is handing Obama a “buy a round, get a round free” golf coupon:

In the picture below he’s using a 20 gauge and taking aim at a disk of flying clay — that’s his instructor next to him. He hit the skeet on 60% of his shots, which I think is pretty good for somebody who’s never done it before.

I probably won’t post again until morning, so feel free to use this space to discuss anything you like. It’s been a fairly slow news day, which sometimes is a good thing.
