Schumer: Could be ‘massive demonstrations’ if House doesn’t pass amnesty bill

In other words, Chuck Schumer’s calling for massive demonstrations if the amnesty bill laden with pork doesn’t go through:

A senior Democratic senator predicted Sunday there could be massive demonstrations in Washington if House Republicans try to block a bill to grant legal status to millions of immigrants.

Sen. Charles Schumer (N.Y.), the lead Democratic sponsor of the Senate immigration reform bill, said House Republicans would likely spark massive civil rights rallies if they try to quash measures to create a pathway to citizenship for illegal immigrants already in the country.

How could there be massive demonstrations? Don’t those who are here illegally all “live in the shadows” cowering in fear?

Schumer might be getting ahead of himself though, because right now the Senate isn’t even a lock to pass the bill, though Harry Reid usually finds a way to buy off enough votes.

Gang of 8 Strikes Deal: Agrees to Secure Border Like They Should Have Already Been Doing While Also Securing Dems Millions Extra Votes

One of the most maddening things about this, among many, is that the deal itself is an admission of the government’s gross dereliction of duty when it comes to border security, and now we’re supposed to believe many of those same politicians who let it happen are going to fix the problem this time.

From ABC News:

ABC News has confirmed that the Senate “Gang of Eight” and other members have reached an agreement to strengthen border security provisions in their bill that they hope will deliver the 70 crucial votes needed for the measure.

According to a high-ranking Senate aide, a formal announcement is expected to be introduced on the Senate floor this morning, but no immediate vote is expected. As of now, no news conference on the deal is scheduled either.

A second Capitol Hill source tells ABC News the agreement will include a major border build up, with a key change being a nearly doubling of border agents, completion of 700 miles of fence, and a specific plan for border security, which must all be fully implemented before green cards are available to undocumented immigrants.

Attaching the amendment could bring the larger piece of legislation closer to the goal of 70 votes that some members of the Gang of Eight have envisioned.

Skeptical? Maybe a White House meme will change your mind. “Success baby” cannot tell a lie:

Well, I’m certainly sold! Hey, let’s let in millions and millions more illegals, grant them amnesty and save another trillion dollars!

And I know all these politicians are saying the millions and millions of people who will be allowed to come “out of the shadows” (I never knew State of the Union speeches were considered “the shadows”) won’t be allowed to vote for many years until they complete a certain “process,” but that’s BS. They will end up voting immediately or Chuck Schumer wouldn’t be foaming at the mouth right now.

The bill is probably dead in the House, but if for some reason it does pass, the GOP will have earned its eventual permanent minority status in the House, Senate, and Oval Office.

Dems Bringing Illegal Immigrants to the State of the Union Speech

Senator John McAmnesty said last month that we “can’t have 11 million people living in the shadows.” However, I wouldn’t necessarily define the State of the Union speech as “the shadows”:

A number of Democrats, including First Lady Michelle Obama, are bringing illegal immigrants as guests to the State of the Union on Tuesday.

But a spokeswoman with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency declined to comment to The Daily Caller on Tuesday about whether the agency approves of this occurring at the Capitol, where Obama is set to give his annual address on Tuesday night.

“I don’t have any comment for you on this,” Gillian Christensen, a spokeswoman with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, said after TheDC inquired whether the agency was aware of this and whether it was possible the guests could be arrested.

At least five Democrats are bringing illegal immigrants to the State of the Union, according to reports.

The list is here.

Hey, it’s only the U.S. Capitol — why should we expect the law to be enforced there?

We can be almost positive that nothing will be done about Dems bringing illegals to the SOTU, but if Ted Nugent (who will be there) were bring an illegal high capacity magazine, he’d be arrested and perp-walked on the spot.

Dems are bringing illegals to the SOTU while real heroes worthy of recognition are declining the invitation.

Mexico President Praises Obama’s ‘Courage’ on Suspending Deportations

How do you say “gutsy call” in Spanish?

Mexico’s president is praising President Barack Obama for having the “courage” to limit the deportation of some young illegal immigrants living in the U.S.

President Felipe Calderon thanked Obama on behalf of the Mexican people for what he called a “valuable decision.”

Translation: Thanks pal, we didn’t want ’em back anyway.

A “valuable decision”? Yeah — Valuable for Mexico in that they won’t have the extra burden, and valuable for Obama in that if things work out right he’ll have a lot of extra votes in November.

Obama Administration Bypasses Congress, Gives Immunity to Young Illegals

At some point recently, a light bulb went off and the Obama administration asked themselves “Why the hell are we throwing potential Democratic voters out of the country?”

We’re used to Friday document dumps, but this is a Friday quasi-amnesty dump:

The Obama administration announced Friday it will stop deporting illegal immigrants who come to the country at a young age.

The politically charged decision comes as Obama faces a tough reelection fight against Republican Mitt Romney, with Hispanic voters in swing states seen as a key bloc.

The change in policy could allow as many as 800,000 immigrants who came to the United States illegally not only to remain in the country without fear of being deported, but to work legally, according to a senior administration official speaking to reporters Friday.

Obama is set to make a statement at 1:15 p.m. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano announced the new policy Friday morning.

“Young people who were brought to the United States through no fault of their own as children, who meet several key criteria, will no longer be removed from the country or entered into removal proceedings,” said Napolitano in a conference call with reporters on Friday morning.

Who needs Congress?

Hey, now that the private sector is doing fine and all American citizens who want work have work, why not wave a “this is definitely not amnesty” wand and let a few hundred thousand illegals eligible for jobs in the US? And I assume this move means they’ll also be eligible for public assistance — if they weren’t already.

Sheriff Arpaio says he’ll still arrest illegals. Expect a renewed Eric Holder crackdown fairly soon.

In other news, the Obama administration still doesn’t think you should have to have an ID in order to vote, but they’re certain you need one if you’re attending an Obama event.

Update: Obama from March of last year:

With respect to the notion that I can just suspend deportations through executive order, that’s just not the case, because there are laws on the books that Congress has passed — and I know that everybody here at Bell is studying hard so you know that we’ve got three branches of government. Congress passes the law. The executive branch’s job is to enforce and implement those laws. And then the judiciary has to interpret the laws.

It’s amazing what new power you can seize when you’re desperate for re-election.

For the First Time in 40 Years Net Migration from Mexico is at a Standstill

The Obama economy — a “virtual fence” on the southern border:

The number of Mexican migrants to the United States dropped significantly while the number of those returning home increased, bringing net migration from Mexico to a statistical standstill, according to a report published Monday.

The shift over the last several years marks a significant change after four decades of historic immigration from Mexico, according to the report by the Pew Hispanic Center.

“The largest wave of immigration in history from a single country to the United States has come to a standstill,” the report says.

If this reversal continues, look for assorted Dems to finally show an interest in a taller, stronger border fence in order to prevent any more of their voters from leaving the US.

Mother of Murdered Border Patrol Agent Posts Message for Eric Holder

I don’t think the mother of Brian Terry, the border patrol agent who was murdered with a weapon the government allowed to be sold to Mexican drug cartels (Operation Fast & Furious), is buying Eric Holder’s excuses. She just posted this on Facebook, via the Daily Caller:

“THIS IS FOR YOU SON,” Mrs. Terry posted on Facebook at about 3:30 p.m. “Mr. Holder. How come you can never say my sons name. You never have. All i ever hear you say is ‘i didnt find out or I cant say’ Im actually tired of hearing your double talk in answering questions. What a joke you are. You know my son was a real AMERICAN, a WARRIOR, and a HERO, who was also protecting COWARD POLITICANS like you.”

“Hope you remember that,” Mrs. Terry added in her message to Holder before signing it: “PROUD MOM OF BRIAN A. TERRY.”

Not much more to add to that.

If you missed it, Michelle Malkin had a comprehensive rundown of Holder’s Capitol Hill grilling yesterday.

Another Crazy Tea Partier Arrested for Death Threat Against a Public Official

Wait, it wasn’t a Tea Partier who was arrested, and the threat was made by an Obama supporter against a public official on the right side of the aisle… but I’m sure the Tea Party drove him to it.

In any case, if the tables were turned, this would be the lead story on all the nightly newscasts:

A 33-year-old Phoenix man is being held by sheriff’s deputies in Phoenix in connection with an Internet death threat against Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio for his ongoing investigation into the legitimacy of President Obama’s birth certificate.

Adam Eugene Cox was taken into custody at his home Friday by Phoenix deputies, along with sheriff’s officers from Knoxville, Tenn., on an unrelated warrant for assault and is being held as the prime suspect in the Arpaio death threat investigation, said Maricopa County Sheriff’s spokesman Jeffrey Sprong.

Deputies served a search warrant and seized a computer and other evidence from Mr. Cox‘ home. The alleged threat against Sheriff Arpaio came to light in October 2011 in which Mr. Cox reportedly said in an Internet posting that the sheriff and his family would be killed.

Maricopa County officials said the postings read, “I plan to kill Arpaio first. He will be filled with a thousand bullet holes before the year is out. I promise you this … He will be buried 10 feet under and his whole family will be murdered along with him.”

The officials said the postings also indicated that Mr. Cox is an avid supporter of Mr. Obama and that Sheriff Arpaio’s ongoing investigation into the legitimacy of Mr. Obama’s birth certificate may be behind the threat to kill the sheriff. They said Mr. Cox‘ mother confirmed that her son is an Obama supporter and the Knox County Sheriff’s Office said he has a history of assault.

Damn those violent Tea Partiers. They just refuse to tone down the rhetoric.

About That Moat Filled with Alligators at the Border…

President Obama was in Texas last week mocking concerns about border security. He even made a crack about unsatisfied Republicans. “What do they want, a moat filled with alligators?”

Um… yes:

Texas Department of Public Safety chief Steve McCraw testified before lawmakers in Washington on Wednesday.

He says the majority of people from terrorist sponsored countries are getting into the U.S. along the Texas border. He pointed to Ahmed Muhammad Dhakane as one of those terrorists.

He asked for asylum at an international crossing in Brownsville in 2008. Halfway through the request, Federal Bureau of Investigation Agents took a closer look at him. They say he was an Al Qaeda terrorist and human smuggler. Dhakane admits to smuggling seven members of Al Qaeda into the U.S.

He’s been sentenced to 10 years behind bars for lying on his asylum application.

Border security certainly hasn’t improved since 2008, no matter what Janet Napolitano says. If anything it’s gotten worse as the current administration looks the other way while “undocumented Democrats” (and select members of Al Qaeda) flock across the border.

With that in mind, Rep. Joe Walsh (R-ocky Mountain Way) is taking Obama up on the moat idea:

13 Illegals Arrested Wearing US Military Uniforms

According to Janet Napolitano, the border is as secure as it’s ever been, but almost every day we’re reminded why J-Nap isn’t even qualified to be a cashier at Borders if she actually believes that. Here’s the latest reminder:

Border Patrol agents recently arrested 13 illegal immigrants disguised as U.S. Marines and riding in a fake military van, U.S. Customs and Border Protection said Tuesday.

The illegal immigrants were clad in Marine uniforms when they were apprehended at the Campo Border Patrol Westbound I-8 checkpoint at 11 p.m. on March 14 near Pine Valley, Calif., border officials said. Two U.S. citizens in the van also were arrested.

What gave them away? It probably didn’t help that the phony uniforms of all these geniuses just happened to be wearing were all sporting the same name:

All of the vehicle’s occupants wore U.S. Marine uniforms, reportedly emblazoned with the name “Perez.”

Hey, they’re illegals, not rocket scientists. If they were rocket scientists they all would have had the same German name.

The authorities should leave them dressed as Marines and haul them up to Berkeley — that’d be one way to get the freeze-dried Bay Area moonbats to finally want to get rid of illegals — albeit unwittingly.
