You’re not making conservatives feel any more at ease with you, Mittster.

Recently the Obama campaign started asking fundraisers to support a pro-Obama Super-PAC. Team Obama says this isn’t a flip-flop, but if it isn’t, I don’t know what is.

I wrote the other day that in 2010 when the Supreme Court blocked a ban on corporate political spending in Citizens United v. FEC, Obama called the ruling “a major victory for big oil, Wall Street banks, health insurance companies and the other powerful interests that marshal their power every day in Washington to drown out the voices of everyday Americans.”

Now rewind to 2007, when Obama was campaigning against Silky Pony and criticizing his acceptance of money from 527s (at the time, Edwards was being supported by the only Super PAC I’ve ever heard of that curiously accepted donations of Enfamil and Huggies). Here’s my partial transcription of the video that follows:

In fact, right now, John yesterday said that he didn’t believe 527s — those are the independent groups that raise money without disclosure. Nobody knows who’s giving the money or what’s going on.
[...]
So he [Edwards] said he’s opposed to them [527s]. We found out today that there’s an outside group spending $750,000 — just bought three quarters of a million dollars of television time — and the individual who’s running the group used to be John Edwards’ campaign manager. So, you can’t say yesterday you don’t believe in ‘em, and today you’re having three quarters of a millions dollars spent for you.

You can’t just talk the talk. The easiest thing in the world is to talk about Change™ during an election time — everybody talks about Change™ during an election time — but you’ve got to look about how do they act when it’s not convenient, when it’s hard. And, the one thing I’m proud of is my track record is strong on this…

Usually when somebody talks about a “tug of war” going on in the White House, they’re referring to staff disagreements. Why was the First Lady playing tug of war in the Blue Room? Because Biden was hosting a water gun fight in the State Dining Room and she didn’t want to get wet.

Even ABC News had to point out that this is rather disrespectful considering the setting:

The normally dignified Blue Room at the White House became a late-night show comedy set last month when first lady Michelle Obama engaged in a friendly game of tug of war with host Jimmy Fallon, according to a photo released by the White House today.

The scene, part of a taping for Fallon’s show, is meant to promote Mrs. Obama’s commitment to physical activity — and good humor — on the second anniversary of her “Let’s Move!” initiative aimed at fighting childhood obesity.

Instead of “tug of war” shouldn’t that instead be called “tug of kinetic rope pulling action”?

If FLOTUS is so determined to fight childhood obesity, which she says strikes the lower income communities even harder than the rest, maybe she’ll speak out in favor of the effort of Florida State Senator Ronda Storms to make people on public assistance unable to purchase cake, cookies and chips with food stamps. What say you, Mrs. Obama? … Mrs. Obama?

RIck Santorum swept caucuses in Colorado, Missouri and Minnesota yesterday.

Most interesting was Minnesota, where Santorum won 45% of the vote, compared to a third place Romney, who got only 17% of the vote. As Michelle Malkin pointed out, so much for the value of a Tim Pawlenty endorsement in the Gopher State. In 2008, Romney received 41% of the caucus vote in Minnesota, so Santorum’s big win there removed another brick from the “most electable candidate” structure the GOP establishment has hastily constructed around Mitt this year.

Here’s a rough delegate count so far, but keep in mind that even though Santorum won three state caucuses yesterday, no delegates have actually been awarded yet:

Romney: 106
Gingrich: 38
Santorum: 22
Paul: 20

The delegate process will take place in the near future at district conventions and precinct caucuses.

Super Tuesday will pretty much make or break the pack, but at least Romney’s getting some serious challenge.

I liked Santorum’s “conservatism won” line — and it’s convincing because for the most part he can say that without having to fake it to some degree. My second favorite was Gingrich’s dig on how unemployment figures are calculated under the rules of Obamanomics: “Under that model, there is zero percent unemployment if we all quit looking for work”:

With that kind of financial hit, some of our weapons systems will be affected and need to be adjusted accordingly. Today, President Obama tested something that could be standard issue for our warriors in the field in this era of military austerity: The Marshmallow Cannon:

This is why Obama played the role of assignment editor today to get the word out. He wants China, North Korea and Iran to know that they are now officially on notice (from the looks of Kim Jong Un though, he’d probably beg to have marshmallows shot at him):
