NYT runs with CIA info when it helps make their point, otherwise, the CIA's inaccurate and incompetent

The New York Times is front-paging an apparently not-so-secret secret memo from a CIA agent in Iraq saying that the situation there is deteriorating fast and won’t soon be repaired.

I did a quick search of the New York Times site with the keywords “CIA”, “faulty”, and “intelligence” and found a truckload of columns they’ve reported about bad intelligence and just plain incompetence from the CIA. They’ve castigated the department, usually with the intent of making Bush look bad.

Now, they’re headlining with information from that same department, and assuming it as fact from a beacon of truth, because it makes Bush look bad.

Who would have thought that Jayson Blair was the one with the most integrity?
