Corporate donations to hurricane victims: generous humanitarian gestures, or relatively inexpensive self-serving national advertising campaign?

Only kidding with the title of this post… sort of. I’m just in the mood to cut off leftist criticisms at the pass today.

The list of corporations and their donations to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina are beginning to be made public.

Here are a few dozen of those companies and what they donated.

Among those things that could constitute the unwarranted “teasing” of some of the fellas in the affected areas is Anheuser Busch’s donation of 12,600 cases of… water.

Imagine the disappointed looks on faces as the big beer truck opens up and it’s loaded with Absopure. What’s next? Pizza Hut trucks delivering rice cakes?

Conspicuously absent from this list is Halliburton– but I guess they and their fossil fuel spewing greedy buddies already donated the hurricane, so we’ll cut them some slack.
