Chief Justice Rehnquist dies — Democrats call emergency session for “fillibuster practice”

William Rehnquist, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court who had served for 33 years died last night, succumbing to cancer.

This is the second Supreme Court opening in just a few weeks. Bush recently nominated John Roberts to fill Sandra Day O’Connor’s opening… Let me restate that– Bush nominated John Roberts to replace Sandra Day O’Connor, who has retired from the court.

In the coming weeks, look for all hell to break loose as predictions as to who Bush will nominate this time begin to flow in and make Ted Kennedy’s face even redder than it is now.
