Alec Baldwin, Your Shoe is Ringing

To fans of straight-jacket politics, Alec Baldwin is God’s gift to the padded cell of discourse.

Members of the People for the Ethical Treatment of Alec Baldwin know this, and will do anything to make sure Alec is always allowed a large forum in which to display his synapse that misfire like the spark plugs on a poorly maintained ’74 Buick.

Baldwin is now back in full force and racing his intellectual car with the usual bald tires, loosened lugnuts and severed brake cables.

Alec has a blog on the Huffington Post, and it’s no surprise that he’s commenting on the Cheney shooting. In additon to wondering how much Cheney had to pay Whittington to keep him from suing, here’s just one line from Alec’s blog concerning the Veep’s hunting accident:

Cheney is a terrorist. He terrorizes our enemies abroad and innocent citizens here at home indiscriminately.

Cheney “terrorizes our enemies“? Oh God forbid! Doesn’t the U.S. Constitution say that we’re supposed to be sending our enemies Bon-Bons and roses instead of bombs and bullets?

As far as Cheney “terrorizing innocent citizens here at home”, it’s so nice to see liberals sticking up for rich Republicans who are major donors to the GOP. Before you know it Alec will be getting an erection the next time he pays a fortune for gas.

Doesn’t Alec Baldwin seem like the kind of guy who is actually losing sleep over the fact that Saddam Hussein is on a hunger strike?

Maybe it’s time for Alec to consider retirement from attempted intellectual pugilism, where he competes in the ring of ideas and practices the “rope-a-dope” technique– acting as the “dope” each and every time.

That won’t happen. If it comes to it, Cheney and the Republicans would pay him to keep talking, because Alec Baldwin is one hell of a GOP asset, not to mention comic relief.

Baldwin longs for the halcyon days of honest politics and politicians that he could support and be proud of
