“Westboro Baptist Church” Reaches a New Low, Even For Them

Remember the pack of loons diguised as the “Westboro Baptist Church” who go around picketing the funerals of soldiers killed overseas (actually, praising them, as they say the deaths are God’s punishment for defending America’s embrace of homosexuality) while simultaneously swatting at the cartoon tweety-birds that are fluttering around their heads?

Well, now they’re planning to picket the funerals of the Amish girls who were killed by the maniac in Pennsylvania. No, seriously.

The Westboro group says the Amish school girls were “killed by a madman in punishment for Gov. Ed Rendell’s blasphemous sins against Westboro Baptist Church.

“Gov. Ed Rendell — speaking and acting in his official capacity to bind the State of Pennsylvania — slandered and mocked and ridiculed and condemned Westboro Baptist Church on national Fox TV,” the group says on its website. In July, Rendell signed a law prohibiting groups from protesting at funerals.

Point of order: Governor Rendell doesn’t make the WBC look like asses — the WBC makes the WBC look like asses.

Who let these freaks out of their straight-jackets?

Update: Now a “church spokesman” says that the WBC has canceled plans to picket at the girls’ funerals. How nearly human of them.

Shakespeare said it best: “The lady doth protest too much, methinks.”
