No Bush Bashing at the White House Correspondents Dinner? Oh the Horror!

Last year, Stephen Colbert gave his somewhat controversial performance at the White House Correspondent’s Dinner that had the left roaring. It had its moments to be sure. This year, things will be different.

Steve Scully is the president of the White House Correspondents Association, and he chose Colbert as last year’s comedian, and this year he chose impressionist Rich Little. The choice of Little surprised me a bit. Why? Well, I wasn’t sure he was still alive for starters.

Little has said that he’ll stick to impressions and not get political. In other words, no Bush bashing.

Markos Moulitsas Zuniga of the lib blog The Daily Kos accuses Scully of “cozying up to the Bush administration.” Sure, just like he did by picking Colbert last year.

Aw shucks, we’re not going to see the president set up like a bowling pin again? Sorry Markos. Maybe next year Scully will pick Michael Moore.
