Celebrity Endorsement: A Brief Psycho-Analysis of Hollywood Libs

Tom Hanks made news the other day with his endorsement of Barack Obama. This was hardly surprising and not really worthy of analysis on a political level.

What I’m more amazed by is why so much of the Hollywood elite is so unabashadly liberal — almost always supporting the pie-in-the-sky Robinhood candidates who run on promises to carpet-bomb the petit-bourgeoisie with somebody else’s money and goodies.

The only explanation for the uber-liberalization of Malibu glitterati I can come up with is this: Hollywood libs are people who feel so guilty for getting so much return on so little work that they would feel like hypocritical gasbags if they didn’t support politicians who promise to deliver the same thing to the general population.

That thinking is of course wildly off base. What makes them hypocritical gasbags is their refusal to support candidates who are rabid proponents of the same system of capitalism and free enterprise that allows Hollywood libs to live so high on the hog that they can no longer see what got them there.

“Obamaaaa! Hahaaaa!”
