Palin’s Puck Drop: Overlooked Racist Overtones?

At the Philadelphia Flyers opening game, the most famous hockey mom in the country dropped the ceremonial first puck.

Liberals in the media and the blogosphere jumped all over it (who knew so many lefties were hockey fans?) and focused on a some boos that came from the crowd. To read some accounts, you’d think that Sarah Palin got a reception similar to the one that Mussullini would have gotten had he dropped the first puck at Giulino di Mezzegra arena shortly after the war.

The moron from the New York Times who wrote that these are “deafening boos” has obviously never been to a Detroit Lions game and has no idea what “deafening boos” are.

But here’s the real surprise: Frankly I’m shocked that the media and leftist bloggers who find “racism” in everything haven’t jumped all over Palin for throwing a black object to the ice to be smacked around by the sticks of masked white men… but maybe I shouldn’t mention that, lest the libs seize upon it.

Here’s the video. It sounds to me like the boo-birds jumped in quickly but were drowned out soon after. You be the judge. In the big picture, it doesn’t matter a lot. In other words, who gives a puck?
