The UK’s Telegraph reported today that actor Will Smith has expressed an interest in playing the part of Barack Obama, should his life story be brought to the big screen.
This got me to thinking about who would be good to play the roles in the inevitable “Obama: The Movie.”
Will Smith has staked his claim to play Obama, but here are a few of my suggestions for rounding out the cast:
Judge Hatchett as Michelle Obama:

Tom and Helen Willis from “The Jeffersons” as Obama’s parents (the more observant will notice that I’ve taken a measure of artistic license with this choice, but I think it still works):

Robert Byrd as Obama’s white racist grandmother:

Nick Nolte as William Ayers:

Steadman Graham as the Reverend Jeremiah Wright:

Dr. Phil as Tony Rezko:

Brendan Fraser as Joe Biden:

Sean Astin as Illinois Governor Blogojevich:

Toby Maguire as Rahm Emanuel:

Esther Rolle as Obama’s grandmother, Sarah:

And Damon Wayans as Obama’s destitute half-brother in Kenya, George:

Filming of Obama’s life story will begin with his birth and will be shot on location in Bethlehem.
The highly controversial “birth certificate altering” scene will feature a gripping cameo appearance by Leonardo DiCaprio, who will be reprising his role from the film “Catch Me if You Can,” portraying master forger Frank Abagnale, Jr.
