Sarah Palin to Appear on the Winfrey Show: ‘I Can See Oprah From My House’

Oprah refused to have Sarah Palin on her show during the campaign so as to not promote the opponents of her Chosen One — and subsequently Palin snubbed Oprah in retaliation. But now Palin will make an appearance, more than likely to the great benefit of all involved:

CHICAGO — In a world exclusive, Oprah Winfrey will interview former Alaska governor Sarah Palin for an episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show to air Monday, November 16, 2009. Winfrey and Palin will meet for the very first time on the episode, which will mark Palin’s first interview to discuss her upcoming book, Going Rogue: An American Life and her first-ever appearance on the Oprah show.

The interview will be conducted the day before Palin’s book is officially released, but don’t forget that Oprah isn’t just doing this to help Sarah out — it’ll be November sweeps and Oprah, though biased, isn’t stupid.

Betting time. At what point in the show will Oprah refer to Palin as “girlfriend”? Put me down for three minutes in.

Update: A couple of Twitterers wrote that they think Palin’s making a mistake by giving Oprah the ratings explosion — but judging from comments on Oprah’s message board, some Oprahbots aren’t pleased that Winfrey is having Palin on her show, which makes the entire appearance worthwhile if you ask me.
