Supreme Court Justice Hillary?

Given Obama’s continuing political nosedive, on the surface, this would be a good way to get a major potential contender for the 2012 Democrat nomination out of the way — but the reason it won’d happen is the scariest of all: I just don’t think Hillary Clinton is leftist enough for Obama.

From the AP:

Sen. Orrin Hatch says he’s heard Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton’s name mentioned in connection with the Supreme Court vacancy brought about by the retirement of Justice John Paul Stevens.

Hatch didn’t elaborate in an interview Monday. Appearing with Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick Leahy on NBC’s “Today” show, the Utah Republican said only, “I heard Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton’s name today and that would be an interesting person in the mix.”

Another argument against Hillary being picked for the Supreme Court is that it’s a demanding job and Bill would miss her too much. Oh come on… who doesn’t need a laugh on a Monday?

Cokie Roberts said Obama should nominate Janet Napolitano to the SCOTUS, which would thus render all future rulings as “court-caused disasters.”
