And he got ARRESTED! Can you believe it? Why won’t California progressives just refer to the guy as an “undocumented governor’s visitor” to a sanctuary residence and drop all charges?
A homeless man who was arrested last month after breaking into California Gov. Jerry Brown’s home in Sacramento reportedly said he only tried entering the mansion because he figured the sanctuary state politician was “an open-door policy kind of guy.”
The California Highway Patrol said 51-year-old Steven Seeley was arrested April 19 and treated at a hospital for cuts he received while breaking a window to get out of the home in downtown Sacramento, located about 10 blocks from the Capitol.
“He’s an open-door policy kind of guy, so I figured the door would be unlocked, or else I wouldn’t have ran over there if I thought the door would be locked,” Seeley told KCRA.
Silly guy — to liberals, “open door policies” are only for unimportant things like national borders, and are definitely are not intended to apply to the homes of those same lefties.
What I found interesting — and by “interesting” I mean hilarious — is that according to this Rasmussen poll, there are a whole bunch of Democrats who think Obama deserved his Nobel for nothing more than showing up for the start of his presidency but don’t think Trump’s done anything to earn one:
Sixty-five percent (65%) of Republicans say Trump deserves the Nobel Peace Prize if he resolves the North Korea situation, but only 30% of Democrats agree. Sixty-four percent (64%) of Democrats say Obama still deserves his Nobel, but only 21% of Republicans agree. By nearly identical margins, Americans not affiliated with either major party tend to feel neither president is entitled to the prestigious award.
Maybe if Trump delivered more flowery speeches, drew more red lines and partook of hashtag diplomacy a little more some Dem minds would be changed.
Dick’s Sporting Goods was among retailers who caved into the demands of gun control activists by making the minimum age to sell firearms 21, along with other changes. To a large degree, bending over to lefty demands has backfired on Dick’s, and I’m wondering how much of this is an attempt to get the federal government to basically force their own rules on competitors to artificially level the sporting goods playing field:
Dick’s Sporting Goods, which announced in February it would no longer sell rifles to anyone under the age of 21, hired three Beltway lobbyists to lobby Congress for gun control, according to federal records reviewed by The Federalist.
The lobbying records show Dick’s hired two Democrats and one Republican from Glover Park Group, a DC-based government affairs firm, for “[l]obbying related to gun control.” No other policy issues were listed in the disclosure form filed by the firm. The disclosure forms show Dick’s pro-gun control lobbying effort began official on April 27, 2018. The official registration form noting Dick’s retention of Glover to push for gun control was filed on Monday morning.
They’re free to sell or not sell whatever they want, but trying to force others to do the same is going full progressive activist. The company is really living up to the name on the sign.
Oh to be a fly on the wall when somebody from the DNC calls Hillary Clinton and asks for $1.65 million back:
Several Democratic officials are asking Hillary Clinton to return the money that the Democratic National Committee paid her political group for her campaign email list and other resources.
In February 2017, the DNC agreed to pay Clinton’s group Onward Together $1.65 million for her campaign email list, analytics, donor data and related items, The Intercept reported on Wednesday. The cache of material was worth more than $5 million; Clinton’s campaign made an in-kind donation of resources worth $3.5 million, and the DNC paid for the rest.
Now a number of Democratic Party officials, including some state party chairs and DNC members, want Clinton to retroactively donate the campaign materials to the DNC and return the money that the party organ gave Onward Together.
“She should return the money for the ‘love of the Democratic Party’ to the DNC for its use,” said Alabama Democratic Party chairwoman Nancy Worley, who supported Clinton during the 2016 primary.
Israeli intelligence operatives who entered Iran found, and left the country with, tens of thousands of documents showing how Iran was working in secret to develop nukes, and lied about their intentions, all while the Obama administration spiked the ball over the Iran deal. CNN framed it this way:
Immediately it’s Netanyahu on the defense? CNN must hand out Dramamine by the handful to keep from getting nauseous from the spin.
Here’s what CNN’s headline would have been if the info made the current U.S. president look like a fool: “Israeli PM’s Comprehensive & Devastating Presentation Proves Trump Got Suckered By Iran.” But instead it makes the Obama administration look like clowns, so we basically get, “Israel steals Iranian state secrets containing questionable information, Netanyahu pounces!”
On MSNBC today, Benjamin Netanyahu did a good job of shooting down all the kneejerk reaction from Obama fans claiming the info in the half-ton trove of material Israeli intelligence swiped from Iran was “nothing new” (video via Hot Air):
Hey, great news for Republicans heading into the midterms: The Clintons plan to have a much higher profile in the coming weeks and months, which means Hillary will be delivering more speeches and Bill’s going to get back on the dating scene:
The Clinton family has made sporadic and often subdued appearances in the 18 months (538 days) since Hillary Clinton lost her presidential election. But we’re about to see a lot more of them this spring.
Why it matters: This family has been on the national stage for 26 years — all or most of the lifetime of anyone under 50. Chelsea Clinton, now 38, was 11 when her father, Arkansas Gov. Bill Clinton, announced his entry into the race for the Democratic presidential nomination in October 1991. He was 45 then; is 71 now.
The Clintons are still graciously offering to help relieve Americans (and others) of the burden of lugging around heavy wallets:
