You know, listening to progressives banter about talking about their visions for socialist utopia reminds me of when I was a kid. There were always some 8-year-olds dreaming out loud: “Hey, if everything was free then nobody would really have to work for anything and we’d all be taken care of.” Progressives are the ones who never really outgrew that stage.
So anyway, how can the Left’s plan of “Medicare for all” work in the U.S.? A couple of writers for the progressive pipe dream manufacturing plant called Vox are on it:
Getting to Canada-style health care costs would require cutting doctor salaries a lot (33 percent for primary care, 52 percent for ortho surgeons).
That's fine, they'll live, but it's important not to undersell the political difficulty.https://t.co/cMK7ptfYKH pic.twitter.com/mDPKPswtkx

This is very true, though the rioting among US doctors if we tried to make them live on Canadian doctor incomes would be quite the spectacle to behold. https://t.co/qEwxr2BMdQ

I for one look forward to being operated on by a doctor recently disgruntled by a huge salary cut while being assisted by his staff who were hit by even steeper pay cuts while all of them are frustrated by a 9-month backlog of pissed patients on their waiting list. And I’m sure people will be lining up around the block to study their asses off for years in medical school and then work 18 hour days in residency to end up earning about as much money as a New York City bus driver.
Ever notice lefty progressives/socialists never recommend cutting their own salaries to “help” others with their needs?
