House Votes to Defund Obamacare, Planned Parenthood

Dem Rep Debbie Wasserman Schultz said people shouldn’t use the term “Obamacare.”

So with that in mind, I’m pleased to report that we’re one step closer to not having to use the word, because the House voted earlier to defund Obamacare:

The House voted to defund President Obama’s health care overhaul on Friday during a sustained burst of floor activity on a temporary spending bill.

The House passed the health care measure, 239-187, as an amendment to a bill that would keep the government lights on through the end of the fiscal year but also impose deep cuts on domestic programs.

I don’t think it’s asking too much to not pay for something a federal judge has ruled unconstitutional at least until the appeals process has played out.

The House also voted to stop giving taxpayer money to Planned Parenthood.

Cecile Richards has an interesting view of “American values”:

“This afternoon’s vote is a victory for taxpayers and a victory for life,” Pence said in a statement. “By banning federal funding to Planned Parenthood, Congress has taken a stand for millions of Americans who believe their tax dollars should not be used to subsidize the largest abortion provider in America.”

But Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood, denounced the proposal as an “extreme and dangerous piece of legislation.”

“The outcome of this vote is not a surprise, but it is radically out of step with mainstream American values and it is out of line with the issues voters want Congress to focus on,” she said.

Cutting spending is an issue many voters want Congress to focus on. I’m not thrilled with the government using my money to kill babies either. Everybody send poor Cecile a case of Ramen noodles to ease the pain.

What kind of sick clique are you hanging around where killing the unborn is a “mainstream American value”?

Anyway, Michelle M’s going to post the roll-call vote(s) when they’re available.

There are a couple more votes going on today that I’ll catch up on later — including a funding bill for PBS. With any luck, Arthur will be on suicide watch this weekend.

Pelosi: When it Comes to Health and Education, Republicans Put Women and Children Last

From a woman who supports failed progressive programs that have destroyed public education and inner cities, not to mention one who supports putting millions of babies in the trash can and calling it “choice,” I’m considering this quite a compliment:

Nancy, you weren’t stripped of your gavel because voters want Republicans to work with you, either — but nice try.

I was half expecting her to whip out Alan Grayson’s old sign — although he probably took it with him and has it displayed in his yard back at home in Moonbatville:

Pro-Abortion Quote of the Day

It’ll be hard to believe, I know, but this guy describes himself as a godless liberal.

From The Daley Gator:

“I’ve scooped brains out of buckets, I’ve counted dendrites in slices cut from the brains of dead babies. You want to make me back down by trying to inspire revulsion with dead baby pictures? I look at them unflinchingly and see meat. And meat does not frighten me.” – Paul Z. Myers, University of Minnesota biology professor

The hard left wonders why the majority of the country worries about them being in charge of their health care?

Even more beyond comprehension, guys like this are the ones who think Sarah Palin is heartless and anthropomorphic global warming deniers are evil and immoral.

Obama’s Ironic State Dinner Toast to the Chinese Leader

The state dinner for China’s President Hu Jintao was last night, and President Obama’s toast was curious under the circumstances:

Paying homage to his guest, POTUS cited a Chinese proverb that says, “If you want one year of prosperity, then grow grain. If you want 10 years of prosperity, then grow trees. But if you want 100 years of prosperity, then you grow people,” before toasting the growth of Chinese-U.S. relations.

“Grow people”? What an odd choice of proverb when speaking about a country with an abortion record that makes Barbara Boxer’s nipples hard. The Chinese government encourages some 13 million abortions per year — many of them forced. China aborts roughly the population of Pennsylvania every year.

The silly things that are said just to placate those to whom we owe a couple trillion dollars.

Special Places in Hell, Part XXIV: Voting on Whether or Not to Have an Abortion

Even if this is a hoax, these people are subhuman gravy buckets:

The Arnolds are having a baby. Unless the public votes to have the child aborted. Meet the couple behind, where “you can vote and choose whether we abort or keep our unborn child.”

Pete and Alisha Arnold, both 30, both tech professionals, live in the Minneapolis suburb of Apple Valley and have been married for 10 years. Since September, they’ve blogged about their expected child at, posting health updates about the mother and the fetus (which will be 17 weeks-old tomorrow), and ultrasound pictures and video. But at the top of the blog is a poll hosted by The question: “Should We Give Birth or Have an Abortion?” “Give Birth” has 46 percent of the vote at the moment, with “Have an Abortion” at 54 percent. The poll closes on December 7th.

Too bad there’s not a spot for write-in votes — I’d go with “Keep the baby, abort the parents.”

Abortion Peddler Quote of the Day

“Women have abortions because they care about motherhood… I don’t think people realize that.” — Dr. Elizabeth Newhall

Yes that’s right, from the same woman who brought you “Hitler only killed the Jews because he loved kosher food” (or maybe not, but it sounds like something she’d say).

This clip makes me like the million innocent babies a year in the US who have their lives ripped away under the guise of “health care”: speechless

Bart Stupak’s Term as ‘Sucker of the Year’ Officially Begins Today

Everybody knew that when Bart Stupak held his support for the Obamacare bill until federal funding for abortions was taken out that it would end up happening anyway, but today’s the day we can officially stamp “sucker” on Stupak’s forehead:

Washington, DC ( – The Obama administration has officially approved the first instance of taxpayer funded abortions under the new national government-run health care program. This is the kind of abortion funding the pro-life movement warned about when Congress considered the bill.

The Obama Administration will give Pennsylvania $160 million to set up a new “high-risk” insurance program under a provision of the federal health care legislation enacted in March.

It has quietly approved a plan submitted by an appointee of pro-abortion Governor Edward Rendell under which the new program will cover any abortion that is legal in Pennsylvania.

The DC Democrats will say something like this: “We did keep up our end of the Stupak deal — Federal money isn’t being used for abortions. We’re giving money to a state, at which point it becomes the state’s money, and if it goes toward abortions at that point, then it was state and not federal money that paid for abortions.”

Yes, they’re that wormy.

From an op-ed Stupak wrote in March of this year explaining why he voted for the Obamacare bill:

Therefore, I and other pro-life Democrats struck an agreement with President Obama to issue an executive order that would ensure all Hyde Amendment protections would apply to the health-care reform bill. No, an executive order is not as strong as the statutory language we fought for at the start. We received, however, an “ironclad” commitment from the president that no taxpayer dollars will be used to pay for abortions.

And the rest of America received an ironclad commitment that our lives would be gumdrops, rainbows & unicorns by now, too.

I have to say it one more time: Sucker!

Nothing Says ‘Happy Mother’s Day, Mom’ Like a Donation to Planned Parenthood

How touching: “Mom, just because you chose life doesn’t mean that some other kid doesn’t have it coming”:

Oddly enough, of all the moms who get Mother’s Day e-card from Cecile Richards, not a single one will have been sent by a son or daughter who was on the receiving end of what the donation pays for.

Planned Parenthood passing the hat for a contribution on Mother’s Day is a little like watching The Pontius Pilate Foundation asking for donations of hammers and nails on Good Friday.
